Google Business Profile management that turns map searches into customers.
When people need a local business, they often choose straight from the map. Overtop Media Digital Marketing sets up, repairs and runs your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business), so you show up in Google Maps and the map pack, and more of those searches become calls, direction requests and bookings.
- 2.7xmore likely to be seen as reputable with a complete Business Profile, according to Google
- 70%more likely to visit a business with a complete Business Profile, according to Google
- 5.0stars from 81 Google reviews on our own Business Profile

The short answer
Who should manage your Google Business Profile?
A team that judges the work by calls, visits and bookings, not by a ranking screenshot. Overtop Media Digital Marketing is a Google Partner in Charlotte that manages Business Profiles for single-location businesses, service-area businesses and multi-location brands.
Your profile is often the first thing a customer sees, before your website. We keep every detail correct, add the photos, services and updates that help people choose you, reply to every review, and fix the problems that hide a listing: failed verifications, suspensions, duplicates and spam. Ranking your website in the regular results is the job of our SEO services; the two work best as one plan.
- A Google PartnerA certified Google Partner, growing businesses from Charlotte since 2009, with a 5.0-star profile of our own.
- Google's rules, every timeNo keyword-stuffed names, fake addresses or bought reviews. Those shortcuts are how listings get suspended.
- A Charlotte office you can visit933 Louise Ave, in Elizabeth. Local businesses get local people; national brands get the same team.
The map is where local customers decide.
Search for a plumber, a dentist or a florist and Google usually answers with a map and a short list of businesses, above the websites. Each of those listings is a Business Profile: hours, photos, reviews, a call button and directions. Many people call or set off from right there, without ever visiting a website.
Google says local results are mainly based on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. Distance is set by where the searcher is. The other two are work, and that work is what we do. Google also says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking, so the work is the only way up.
- Relevance
- How well your profile matches the search: your categories, services, products and description, kept complete and accurate.
- Distance
- How far your business is from the searcher, or from the place they named. We make sure your pin and service area are right.
- Prominence
- How well known you are: how many reviews you have and how good they are, the websites that link to you, and how strong your own website is.
It pays to get it right. According to Google, customers are 2.7 times more likely to consider a business reputable when they find a complete Business Profile on Search and Maps, 70% more likely to visit it and 50% more likely to consider buying from it.

What a well-run profile brings in.
Six results our clients hire us for. Open each one to see how we get there.
Phone calls from people ready to buy
The call button sits right on your listing, often the first thing a customer taps. We make sure the number, the hours and the business name are right everywhere, and we count the calls, so you can see how many came from Google Maps and Search each month and what they turned into. When a tracking number is used, your main number stays listed on the profile too, so your details never disagree.
Direction requests and walk-ins
For a shop, an office, a clinic or a restaurant, a direction request is a customer on the way. An accurate pin, photos of the building and the entrance, parking details and correct hours turn those requests into visits instead of wrong turns and closed doors.
Bookings and appointments
Booking buttons, appointment links and menus let people book a table, a visit or a service straight from the listing. We set them up through a booking partner Google supports or a booking page on your own site, and tag them so every booking that starts on your profile is counted.
Website visits that turn into leads
When people want to know more, they tap through to your site. We tag that link so analytics shows exactly what profile visitors do next, connect your profile to Google Analytics where Google offers it, and point the link at the page that best answers what they searched for, not just your homepage.
Reviews that win the next customer
Most people read reviews before they pick a business. We set up a simple way for your team to ask every customer, and we reply to every review, good or bad, in your voice. Steady, genuine reviews are one of the few things that move you up the map and convince people once you are there.
Answers before the first conversation
Real photos, a clear description, every service and product listed, accurate attributes and fresh updates answer most questions before anyone calls. Google Maps now also answers many customer questions with AI, built from what Google knows about you: your profile, your reviews and your website. Complete, accurate information is what those answers are made of.
Google Business Profile optimization, handled end to end.
Optimization is not a one-time checklist. Google changes the profile, competitors change theirs, and your business changes too. Here is what we take off your plate every month.
- Setup and verification
- We claim or create the profile, pick the verification method Google offers you, and help you record a video verification that passes when Google asks for one. You stay the owner; we work as a manager on your profile.
- Categories, services and products
- The primary category is one of the strongest choices on the whole profile. We choose it from what your customers actually search for, add the right secondary categories, and list the services and products you want to be found for.
- Photos and videos
- Real photos of your team, your work, your storefront and your entrance, added on a steady schedule. Google asks for at least three photos of each kind, exterior, interior, team and your products or services, and we plan the shoot around that.
- Updates, offers and events
- Short updates, offers and events keep the profile current and give people a reason to choose you this week, not someday. We write them around the services you most want to sell.
- Reviews and replies
- A review link and QR code your team will actually use, a reply to every review within days with your approval, and a report to Google for any review that breaks its rules. Never bought, filtered or rewarded reviews.
- Hours, attributes and holidays
- Holiday and weather hours, accessibility, payment and service options, so nobody drives to a closed door and the right customers can tell you are a fit before they call.
- Duplicates and spam
- We merge or remove duplicate listings, correct wrong information Google picked up from elsewhere, and report fake listings and keyword-stuffed competitor names through Google’s own forms.
- Calls, directions and reporting
- Calls, direction requests, website clicks and bookings from the profile each month, set next to the leads and sales they produced, with a plain-language note on what we changed and why.
For the thinking behind each of these, read our Google Business Profile optimization guide and our framework for keeping your name, address and phone consistent everywhere Google looks.
Suspended, unverified or hijacked? We fix it.
A listing that disappears takes your calls with it. These are the problems we see most, and we handle every one through Google's own processes, never through shortcuts.
- 1Find the cause
- 2Fix the profile
- 3Gather proof
- 4Appeal to Google
- 5Back on the map
- Suspended profile
- We find the cause, usually a guideline issue in the name, address, category or website, fix the profile, gather the proof Google asks for and file the reinstatement request through Google’s appeal process.
- Verification failed or stuck
- We work out why Google will not verify the listing, correct what is wrong and take the next verification route Google offers, so the profile can go live.
- Lost ownership
- When a former employee, a past agency or someone you do not know controls your listing, we help you request ownership through Google and keep it in your name afterwards.
- Wrong details and duplicates
- Old phone numbers, a pin in the wrong place, a closed location still showing as open: we correct them at the source so Google stops reverting them.
- Fake reviews and spam competitors
- Reviews and listings that break Google’s policies get reported with evidence through Google’s own tools. We never touch genuine reviews; honest criticism gets a calm, helpful reply.
- 292M+reviews that broke Google's policies were blocked or removed in 2025
- 13M+fake Business Profiles removed in 2025
- 79Minaccurate or unverified edits to listings blocked in 2025
Google polices profiles harder every year, which is why shortcuts end in suspensions. We work only within Google's guidelines for representing your business.

One plan for everything that shows up on the map.
Your profile rarely works alone. On a local search, Google can show ads, the map and the regular results on one screen, and we plan all of them together from one Charlotte office.
- Your Business Profile wins the map Your listing in Google Maps and the map pack, where local customers call and ask for directions.
- SEO wins the results below it Your website ranking for the searches the map does not answer, and backing up the profile’s relevance. SEO services
- Google Ads buys the spot above Location assets add your address, distance and directions to your ads, including ads inside Google Maps. Google Ads management
- Local Services Ads add the badge For eligible service businesses, pay-per-lead ads with a Google Verified badge at the very top of the page.
The pieces feed each other. The reviews and photos that help your profile also make your ads more convincing, and the searches your profile already wins are ones you no longer need to pay for. When people tap through, your website has to finish the job, which is why our web design team builds pages for the visitors a profile sends. Service businesses that qualify can add Local Services Ads on top, and our guide to bidding on Local Services Ads explains how we decide whether they are worth it.
Your goals, timeline, budget and competition decide the plan.
There is no package. A florist with one shop, a roofer covering four counties and a dental group with twelve offices need different work. We start with four questions, then let the data decide what comes first.
- Your goals
- More calls, more walk-ins, more booked appointments, or all three. The goal decides what the profile should push first.
- Your timeline
- A location opening next month needs a different plan than a long-running listing that has slipped down the map.
- Your budget
- What you invest sets the pace: photo shoots, how many locations, a review program, and whether ads join the map.
- Your competition
- How many strong profiles sit between you and your customers, and how many reviews they have, tells us how much work the map will take.
Then the data takes over: which searches show your listing, which photos people look at, which updates bring calls, and which reviews mention the services you want to sell more of. We change what the numbers say to change. In crowded markets, our local competitive displacement playbook shows how we find the openings.
According to OVERTOP Search Intelligence (September 2026), people in Charlotte search "dentist near me" about 9,900 times a month.

Your profile stays yours.
Google sets clear rules for any agency that manages a Business Profile. We follow every one of them, and we would rather you hear them from us first.
- You stay the owner
- You keep ownership of your profile at all times. We are added as a manager, with only the access the work needs.
- Nothing changes without your OK
- We reply to reviews and make bigger changes only with your written approval, and we never undo an update Google suggests without asking you first.
- The profile itself is free
- Google Business Profile costs nothing. What you pay us for is the work, and we put that in writing before we start.
- Leave whenever you like
- If you ever move on, you get full, exclusive control back within seven business days, as Google requires of every agency.
- No promises we cannot keep
- Nobody can guarantee a spot on the map. We promise the work, clear reporting and honest advice.

Questions about Google Business Profile management.
How much does Google Business Profile management cost?
The profile itself is free from Google. Our management is quoted once we have seen your profile, your competition and your goals, because a single shop and a twenty-location brand need very different work. There are no packages: you get a plan built around your own numbers. Talk to us and we will show you what the first months would include.
Is Google Business Profile the same as Google My Business?
Yes. Google My Business was renamed Google Business Profile, and most editing now happens right inside Google Search and Maps. Plenty of people still call it Google My Business, or GMB, and it is the same listing.
How long does it take to see results?
Fixes such as a wrong category, wrong hours or a duplicate listing can change what customers see within days of Google accepting the edit. Climbing the map in a competitive area takes months of steady reviews, photos and relevance work. You see the trend in calls, directions and visits every month.
Can you guarantee the top spot on Google Maps?
No, and nobody honest can. Google decides who shows, and the results change with where each searcher is standing. We promise the work, a guideline-safe approach and clear reporting, and we judge success by calls and visits, not by a single ranking.
My profile was suspended. Can you help?
Yes. We find why it was suspended, correct the profile, collect the documents Google asks for and file the reinstatement request through Google’s process. Google reviews each appeal only once, so we file one complete request rather than several quick ones, and we never create a second profile for the same business. Most suspensions trace back to a guideline issue that can be fixed; some take patience. We tell you honestly what we find before we start.
Can you remove bad reviews?
Nobody can remove a genuine review just because it is negative. Reviews that break Google’s policies, such as fake reviews or reviews from a conflict of interest, can be reported, and we do that with evidence. For real criticism, a calm and helpful reply often does more for the next customer than the review did harm.
Do you buy or reward reviews?
Never. Paying for reviews, offering discounts or gifts for them, asking only the customers you expect to be happy, review stations in the shop or staff review quotas all break Google’s policies, and fake reviews are illegal in the United States under the FTC’s rule on reviews. We build a simple habit of asking every customer instead.
I work from home or visit my customers. Can I still have a profile?
Yes. A service-area business can hide its address and show up to 20 areas it serves instead, within about two hours’ drive of its base. We set that up correctly, because showing a home address or a virtual office the wrong way is one of the most common causes of suspension.
Can I have a profile for every city I serve?
Only for real locations. Google allows a profile where you meet customers in person or where staff work during business hours; a virtual office, a mailbox or an address you do not staff does not qualify, and fake locations are a common reason profiles get suspended. If you travel to customers, one profile with a service area covers the towns you serve, and your website can cover each city.
Do you manage profiles for multiple locations?
Yes. For chains and franchises we organize the locations into groups, keep names, hours and categories consistent, help verify new locations, and report each location next to the brand total.
Will I still own my profile?
Always. You stay the primary owner and add us as a manager, so the listing and its reviews remain yours whatever happens. If you ever move on, you get full control back within seven business days.
What happened to messaging and questions and answers on profiles?
Google ended chat on Business Profiles in July 2024; where available, customers can now reach you through a WhatsApp or text link instead. The questions and answers section now appears only for some categories and regions, and Google Maps answers many questions with AI. We focus on the information those answers are built from: a complete profile, steady reviews and a clear website.
How does this work with SEO and Google Ads?
Your profile wins the map, SEO wins the website results below it, and Google Ads can buy the spots above both. We plan them together, so your listing, your website and your ads tell the same story and you do not pay for clicks your profile already wins.
Do you work with businesses outside Charlotte?
Yes. We manage Business Profiles for businesses across the Charlotte metro, the Carolinas and nationwide, from our Charlotte office.
