The short answer

Who should run your TikTok ads?

A team that makes videos people want to watch, measures customers instead of views, and runs TikTok as one part of your whole marketing plan.

TikTok rewards a different kind of ad. The video decides more than the targeting does, polished commercials get skipped, and results come from testing several short videos at once. Overtop Media Digital Marketing is a TikTok Marketing Partner and a Google Partner, growing businesses from Charlotte since 2009. We plan your TikTok ads together with your Meta ads and Google Ads management, so the people TikTok introduces to you find you again when they are ready to buy.

  • Made for the feed, not resized TV adsShort, vertical videos with a hook in the first seconds, made by real people, so your ads look like the posts around them.
  • One plan with your Google and Meta adsA TikTok Marketing Partner, a Meta Business Partner and a Google Partner, so TikTok builds demand that your search and social budgets then collect.
  • A Charlotte office you can visit933 Louise Ave, in Elizabeth. Local businesses get local people; national accounts get the same team.

New customers who have never heard of you

TikTok shows people videos from businesses they do not follow yet, based on what they watch. That makes it one of the fastest ways to put a new name in front of the right people in your area or your market. We make videos that feel like TikTok, aim them at the customers worth reaching, and keep the ones that hold attention.

A drive-thru coffee chain running modest budgets beat industry benchmarks for ad recall by 16.4%, TikTok reports.

Leads and booked jobs, without leaving the app

TikTok lead forms open inside the app with the person's details already filled in, so asking for a quote takes seconds. We connect the form to your inbox or CRM, follow up fast, and teach the campaign which leads turned into paying customers so it finds more of them.

An auto-financing company collected more than 24,000 leads at an average of $3.19 each with TikTok lead forms, TikTok reports.

More people walking through your door

TikTok can target the Charlotte DMA, a single county, a city or a list of zip codes. For restaurants, shops, salons and anyone who needs foot traffic, we show your videos to people close enough to visit and measure the visits that follow.

A burger chain's one-day TikTok campaign drove 110,000 additional restaurant visits, TikTok reports. In a separate store-visit analysis, 121 of 126 retail and dining campaigns showed a real lift in visits.

Found when people search TikTok

Many people now search TikTok for a restaurant, a contractor or a product before they search anywhere else. TikTok places ads in those search results. We add the searches your customers use, block the ones that waste money, and run them alongside your feed ads.

Advertisers running TikTok Search Ads alongside feed ads saw 20% more conversions on average, at a similar or better cost, according to TikTok data.

Ads made by creators, not by an ad agency

People trust a real person showing how something works more than a polished commercial. With Spark Ads, we run your own posts or a creator's post as an ad, so the likes and follows build your account too. We book the creators directly, so you skip the usual agency markup.

A national retailer earned 2x higher return on ad spend from creator-led ads than from its other creative, TikTok reports.

Online sales from your product catalog

If you sell online, TikTok can turn your product catalog into video ads that show each person the items they are most likely to buy. We keep the feed clean, put money behind the products that earn a profit, and cut the ones that only collect views.

A fashion retailer doubled its return on ad spend with TikTok search campaigns compared with its other campaigns, TikTok reports.

Sales inside TikTok Shop

For brands that sell through TikTok Shop, people can buy without leaving the app. TikTok now runs Shop ads through one automated campaign type, GMV Max. We feed it the right products and videos, and judge it on profit, not just sales.

A snack company started in a garage went from 5 to 10 orders a day to more than 100, and passed $100,000 in revenue in four months, TikTok reports.

Four decisions behind every campaign.

Anyone can press "promote" on a post. The difference between spending and growing is how these four choices are made, and how often they are revisited.

  1. TikTok campaign setup asking whether the goal is brand awareness, sales or lead generation

    What you want

Calls, leads, visits or sales. One clear goal per campaign.

  2. TikTok audience setup with interest tags such as retail and an age range

    Who should see it

Your area and the interests of the people who buy from you.

  3. TikTok budget slider for setting a daily ad budget

    What to spend

A daily budget you control and can change at any time.

  4. TikTok video ad of a gardener potting plants, chosen as the ad creative

    Which videos run

Several videos tested at once, the winners kept, the rest cut.

Videos that look like TikTok, made by real people.

On TikTok the video does most of the targeting. The ad that wins is usually the one that feels like a post from a person, not a commercial from a company. Here is where your videos come from.

  1. Your own videos first You, your team and your customers on a phone are the most believable ads you can run. We show you what to film and turn it into ads.
  2. The best local talent Photographers, videographers and creators who fit your brand, booked directly so you avoid the usual agency markup.
  3. Stock only to fill gaps Never the whole ad. And never AI avatars pretending to be your staff.
  • A hook in the first two seconds, because that is when people decide to keep watching.
  • Made vertical, with sound and captions, for the phone it will be watched on.
  • Several versions of every idea, so the data picks the winner, not our taste.
  • Fresh videos every few weeks, before the audience tires of the old ones.

What does a fair TikTok test cost?

TikTok sets minimum daily budgets, and a test needs enough room to learn. Pick how many audiences to compare and how long to run, and see the media budget TikTok's own guidance points to.

$1,800

About $60 a day. Media paid to TikTok, based on its minimums: more than $50 a day per campaign, and at least $30 a day per audience for website campaigns. Your plan replaces this with the right number for your goals.

Is TikTok right for your business?

TikTok is not for everyone, and we would rather tell you now than after you have spent the money.

TikTok is a strong fit when

  • Your customers are mostly under 50
  • What you sell looks good on video: food, homes, results, products
  • You want new faces in the door or new names on your list
  • You or a creator can film a few short videos a month
  • You can give a test about a month to learn

We would start elsewhere when

  • Your customers are mostly 65 and older (12% use TikTok)
  • People only look for you in an emergency, so Google comes first
  • Housing, jobs or credit offers, where TikTok limits targeting
  • One video meant to run unchanged all year
  • No room in the budget to test before scaling

Proof TikTok sold something, not just got views.

Views and likes are easy to buy. We judge TikTok on the customers it brings, and that takes more than the last click, because people often see a TikTok ad and buy later on Google, Amazon or in your store.

  • TikTok Pixel plus the server-side Events API, so conversions browsers miss are still counted.
  • Calls, forms and bookings tracked, and your sales data sent back so TikTok learns which leads become customers.
  • TikTok, Google and Meta read side by side from the same numbers, so no channel double counts.
  • Lift studies and before-and-after comparisons in your market to show what TikTok added.

In one test TikTok published, a hydration brand's last-click report credited TikTok with 12 conversions. A controlled test found more than 9,500 extra orders, 62% of them on Amazon and other sites.

One team for every channel.

TikTok works best as the start of the journey, not a separate account someone checks once a month. Here is where it fits.

  1. TikTok ads work here TikTok and Meta create demand People discover your business while they scroll, before they need you.
  2. Google and Microsoft catch the search When they are ready, you are the answer on every search engine.
  3. Your website turns visits into leads Fast pages that make calling, booking or buying easy.
  4. Analytics proves what paid off Every channel judged on the same customer data.
  1. Meta ads

Facebook and Instagram Reels reach many of the same people with similar vertical video. We plan both together so one set of videos works twice.

  2. Google Ads

People who discover you on TikTok often search for your name next. Google Ads makes sure you are the first result they see.

  3. Microsoft Ads

Adds the searchers on Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo, often at a lower cost per click, to the same plan.

  4. SEO, your website and analytics

Organic rankings, pages that convert and tracking that tells the truth. Every channel is judged on the same customer data.

Every client gets a custom plan built around what a customer is worth to them. No templates, and no boosting posts and hoping.

TikTok business account report showing 2,344,211 video views over the last seven days as a bar chart
  1. We find out if TikTok fits your business

Before any spend, we look at who your customers are, what they would want to watch, and what a customer is worth to you. If TikTok will not pay off for your business, we tell you, and point you to the channel that will.

  2. We set up measurement first

TikTok Pixel and server-side events on your site, calls and forms tracked, and your sales data connected where you can share it, so TikTok is judged on customers from day one.

  3. We plan and make the videos

Hooks, scripts and shot lists for you or the creators we book. Several versions of every idea, because on TikTok the video decides more than the targeting does.

  4. We test, cut and scale

Videos, audiences and placements reviewed every week. Money moves to what brings customers, and new videos replace the ones that stop working.

  5. You see what you paid for

Questions about TikTok ads.

How much do TikTok ads cost?

You set the budget, and TikTok charges for the views, clicks or results your ads get, so there is no fixed price. What you pay for each lead or sale depends on your offer, your area, your videos and how competitive your category is. We size the budget from what a customer is worth to you and raise it only when the numbers support it. Every client gets a custom plan, so we do not publish price lists.

What is the minimum budget for TikTok ads?

TikTok requires a daily campaign budget of more than $50 and more than $20 a day for each ad group, the audience and placement settings inside a campaign. For campaigns that send people to your website, TikTok recommends at least $30 a day per ad group in North America. For a first test, most businesses spend roughly $1,500 to $2,000 in media over a month.

Are TikTok ads worth it for my business?

They usually are if your customers are under about 50, what you sell looks good on video, and you can supply or approve a few short videos a month. They are a weaker first choice if your customers are mostly over 65 or only look for you in an emergency, where search ads come first. We check the fit for your business before you spend anything.

Do TikTok ads work for small and local businesses?

Yes. TikTok reports that 47 million American adults found a local business through a TikTok video in the past year, and you can target the Charlotte DMA, a county, a city or specific zip codes. Restaurants, shops, salons, home services and event businesses tend to do well, because their work is easy to show on video.

Should I run TikTok ads or Meta ads?

Often both. TikTok and Instagram Reels reach many of the same people with similar vertical videos, so one set of videos can work on both. TikTok tends to reach new people at a lower cost, while Meta has more years of buying data. We plan them as one budget and move money to whichever brings customers at the better cost.

What are Spark Ads, and do I need creators?

Spark Ads run an existing TikTok post, yours or a creator's with their permission, as an ad, so views, likes and follows count on the original post. Creators are not required, but videos made by real people usually beat polished commercials on TikTok. We book local creators directly when they fit, so you avoid the usual agency markup.

Do I need to be on camera or post on TikTok myself?

No. Many of our clients never appear in their ads. A business account that posts now and then helps, because Spark Ads can boost your best posts, but we can run ads from creator videos and footage of your work instead.

How do you track leads and sales from TikTok?

We install the TikTok Pixel and connect the TikTok Events API, a server-side connection that catches conversions browsers miss. We track calls and forms, send back which leads became customers, and compare results with and without TikTok spend. People often see a TikTok ad and buy later through Google or Amazon, so we look beyond the last click.

Who owns the ad account and the videos?

You do. Your ad account sits in your own TikTok Business Center and we work in it with the access you give us, so you keep it if you ever leave. Videos you film are yours, and we agree usage rights with creators before anything is filmed.

How fast will I see results?

Lead and traffic campaigns usually bring the first results within days. The first few weeks are for testing videos and audiences and cutting waste; most businesses can judge TikTok fairly after about a month, and the cost of each customer usually falls as the account learns which videos work.

Is TikTok still a safe place to advertise in the US?

Yes. In January 2026 a new US joint venture took over TikTok's US data, algorithm and content moderation, and advertising continued as normal. TikTok reports that more than 200 million Americans use the app, and it launched new US ad products in October 2026.

Do you only work with Charlotte businesses?

No. Our office is in Charlotte and we know the Charlotte metro market well, but Overtop Media Digital Marketing runs TikTok ads for businesses across the United States. Local or national, you work with the same team you meet on the first call.
