Financial services and insurance
A financial marketing agency for clients who stay for years
People choose an insurance agent, an advisor or an accountant on trust, and most stay for years once they do. We plan search, your Google listing, social ads, content and client email around that decision and inside the advertising rules that apply to finance, and we count quotes, consultations and households won.
- $68 to $162estimated click cost for "car insurance quotes" in Charlotte, among the highest of any search

- 590searches a month for "cpa charlotte"

The short answer
What should a financial marketing agency do for a local firm?
A financial marketing agency should win the clients a firm can serve for years, at a cost that makes sense against what each relationship is worth.
In finance and insurance that rarely means outbidding national carriers and lenders on the most expensive searches. It means owning the local searches, the map and the referrals, building trust with content and reviews, and growing each relationship through email and cross-selling. We plan around that, within the compliance review your firm needs, and we measure quotes, consultations and new households, not clicks.
What insurance agencies, advisors and CPAs need from marketing.
An insurance agency, a wealth manager and a tax practice all sell trust, but they find clients in different ways. These are the needs we plan around.
-
Trust before the first call
People hand over their finances only after they trust the firm. Reviews, credentials, clear explanations and real faces do more than any discount.
-
Avoiding the most expensive auctions
National carriers and lenders bid heavily on head terms like quotes and rates. Local firms win on searches the big players ignore.
-
Compliance review built into the work
Ads, emails and pages often need sign-off from a compliance team or carrier. The plan leaves time for review instead of fighting it.
-
Seasons that matter
Tax season, open enrollment, renewal dates and rate changes shape demand. Budgets and messages follow the calendar.
-
Cross-selling existing households
An auto client who also buys home and umbrella coverage is worth far more and stays longer. Email and reviews do that work at no click cost.
-
Referrals and centers of influence
Realtors, lenders, CPAs and attorneys send many of the best clients. Marketing should support those relationships, not replace them.
What people search for financial help, in Charlotte and across the US.
Monthly searches and estimated click costs for insurance and financial searches. The spread is the story: quote searches are among the most expensive clicks anywhere, while local and professional searches cost a fraction of that.
| Search | US / mo | Est. click cost, Charlotte |
|---|---|---|
| car insurance quotes | 673,000 | $67.68 to $161.84 |
| car insurance | 550,000 | $46.44 to $138.56 |
| homeowners insurance quote | 110,000 | $45.00 to $135.98 |
| car insurance charlotte nc | 1,300 | $42.56 to $150.00 |
| business insurance | 49,500 | $28.00 to $97.26 |
| cpa charlotte | 720 | $6.38 to $32.83 |
| insurance broker near me | 40,500 | $9.10 to $43.16 |
| mortgage lenders charlotte | 480 | $5.85 to $30.96 |
| insurance agency near me | 27,100 | $11.05 to $36.49 |
| financial advisor charlotte | 260 | $7.40 to $41.39 |
- Quote searches are a carrier fight
- "car insurance quotes" costs about $68 to $162 a click in Charlotte because national carriers bid for every shopper. A local agency spending there competes with marketing budgets far larger than its own.
- Local searches cost a fraction
- "insurance agency near me" and "insurance broker near me" run about $9 to $43, and "cpa charlotte" about $6 to $33. These people want a local professional, which is exactly what a local firm sells.
- Business coverage is its own market
- "business insurance" draws about 720 searches a month in the Charlotte area. Commercial clients carry higher premiums and longer relationships, and they search differently from households.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.
A one-office insurance agency, a growing advisory firm and a multi-location CPA practice need different plans. Four things set the starting point.
- Your goals New households, commercial accounts, advisory clients above a minimum, or a busier tax season. Each starts somewhere different.
- Your timeline Local search and the map bring calls in weeks. Content, reviews and referral marketing build over a year.
- Your budget and client value What a client is worth over the years sets what a quote or consultation can cost. Some searches are worth it; many are not.
- Your compliance rules Carrier, broker-dealer or firm rules decide what can be said and how fast. The plan is built around that review.
Data sets the starting mix, ties quotes and consultations to their source, and tells us when to change course.
Independent insurance agency
Win local households and businesses
Google listing and reviews, local and commercial search ads, and cross-sell email to every existing household.
Financial advisor or wealth manager
Earn trust with the right clients
Search on local and specialty terms, educational content, LinkedIn for business owners, and a long nurture path.
CPA, bookkeeping or tax practice
Fill the season, then keep clients year-round
Local search before tax season, Local Services Ads where available, and advisory services marketed to existing clients.
If a Charlotte insurance agency came to us, here is how we would start.
This is the plan we would pitch to a real client, built for a fictional independent insurance agency with real Charlotte search data. The agency, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

The keywords, grouped the way we would build the account
The agency would not chase "car insurance quotes" against national carriers. The account focuses on people looking for a local agent and on business owners, where an independent agency has the edge.
A local agent
People who want a person, not a website. The cheapest high-intent searches in the account.
| Search | Charlotte area / mo | Est. click cost |
|---|---|---|
| insurance agency near me | 260 | $11.05 to $36.49 |
| independent insurance agent | 210 | $10.49 to $35.34 |
| insurance broker near me | 390 | $9.10 to $43.16 |
Business insurance
Higher premiums and longer relationships. Business owners compare coverage, not just price.
| Search | Charlotte area / mo | Est. click cost |
|---|---|---|
| business insurance | 720 | $28.00 to $97.26 |
| general liability insurance | 480 | $28.23 to $93.33 |
| small business insurance | 320 | $28.00 to $101.29 |
Negative keywords that protect the budget
- jobs
- careers
- license
- exam
- login
- claims phone number
- customer service
- cancel

- state farm
- geico
Existing customers of other companies looking for a login or a claims number, people studying for a license and job seekers all click insurance ads. At these prices, every one of them is expensive.
The Google search ads
One ad per group, written inside Google's limits: headlines up to 30 characters, descriptions up to 90.

The Google listing and the map
For "near me" searches the map decides, so the agency listing carries every line of coverage, office hours, the agents’ photos and replies to every review. Some financial categories, such as financial planning and tax preparation, can also run Local Services Ads, which charge per lead and show a Google Verified badge.
The Facebook ad
Social ads meet people at life moments that create insurance needs: a new home, a new car, a new business. Credit and some financial ads fall under Meta’s special ad category, which limits targeting by age and location, so the plan is built for that from the start.
The email
Renewal and review emails keep clients and open the cross-sell conversation. A household with several policies stays far longer than one with a single policy.
Time for your coverage review
Your auto policy renews next month. A 15-minute review is a good time to check your coverage, ask about bundling with your home policy and make sure your limits still fit your life.
Book my reviewThe landing page the ads send people to
People land here wanting a person they can trust. The page shows the agents, the carriers and a short form or a phone number, not a 20-question quote engine.

What has worked for financial and insurance companies.
These are results the ad and CRM platforms published for financial services and insurance businesses. They are those companies’ published results, not ours, and each story shows what we would take from it.
Financial marketing in Charlotte, the banking city.
We are based in Charlotte, one of the country’s largest banking centers, and plan campaigns for agencies, advisors and firms across the region, from Ballantyne and SouthPark to Huntersville, Concord and Fort Mill. We also work with financial and insurance firms across the US, with each campaign planned on its own market’s search data and compliance rules.
The mistakes we see most in financial marketing.
Most of the waste we find in financial and insurance accounts comes from a few decisions.
Fighting carriers for quote searches
A local agency bidding on "car insurance quotes" pays national-carrier prices for shoppers who often want the cheapest online quote, not an agent.
Bidding on other companies’ names
Searches for a carrier’s login or claims number bring clicks from that carrier’s customers who will never switch. They belong in the negative list.
Ads to a generic quote form
A long quote engine scares off people who wanted a conversation. A short review request or a phone number often converts better.
Compliance as an afterthought
Campaigns written without review stall for weeks or launch with wording that has to be pulled. Building review into the calendar keeps things moving.
No tracking past the phone call
If bound policies and new advisory clients are not tied back to their source, budgets follow call volume instead of revenue.
Ignoring the book of business
The cheapest new policy is often a second policy for an existing household. Without cross-sell email, agencies pay to win clients they already have.

Questions financial firms ask us.
Can you work with our compliance review?
Yes. We build review time into the calendar, keep claims factual, and supply ads, pages and emails in the format your compliance team or carrier needs before anything goes live.
Should an insurance agency bid on quote searches?
Usually only in narrow, local forms. National carriers drive the broad quote searches to some of the highest click costs online. Local, commercial and agent-focused searches tend to bring better clients for far less.
Do Meta’s special ad category rules apply to us?
They apply to credit and some financial products, and they limit targeting by age, gender and location. We plan audiences and creative for those limits rather than having ads restricted later.
How long until we see new clients?
Local search and a stronger Google listing usually produce calls within weeks. Advisory relationships and commercial accounts take longer, so we track the pipeline as well as signed clients.
Do you only work with firms in Charlotte?
No. We are based in Charlotte and work with financial and insurance firms across the US, with each campaign planned on that market’s own data.
What do you count as a result?
Quote requests, consultations, bound policies, new households and their value, tied to the channel that produced them. Clicks are tracked but never treated as the goal.
