Wealth management
Wealth management marketing that wins families away from the big private banks
Affluent families rarely search for a wealth manager by name. They search for the bank they already know, the estate plan they need or the sale they are planning. We build search, LinkedIn, your Google listing and long-cycle email around those moments, inside the SEC marketing rule and your compliance review, and we measure new relationships, not form fills.
- 1,360Charlotte-area searches a month for four big-name private banks and wealth brands, almost three times the 480 for "wealth management"
- 1,600Charlotte-area searches for "wealth management services" in January 2026, against 70 in November 2025
- $12.99low end of the estimated click cost for "private wealth management" in Charlotte, against $4.75 for "wealth management charlotte"
- 10Charlotte-area searches a month for "high net worth financial advisor": wealthy families do not describe themselves that way
The short answer
What makes wealth management marketing different from advisor marketing?
Wealth management marketing has to reach families who already have a private banker, an estate attorney and a CPA, and give them a reason to move complex assets to an independent firm. It is measured by new relationships above your minimum and the assets they bring, never by lead volume.
In the wealth firm accounts we review, the budget leaks in two directions. Broad "wealth management" clicks bring people with a 401k and a question, while the families a firm wants are searching for the private bank they already use, a trust company or an estate attorney. Our wealth management marketing specialists build search ads on the comparison and private wealth searches, LinkedIn for owners and executives, SEO for wealth management pages by service and family situation, and email that stays useful for a year or more, all inside the SEC investment adviser marketing rule and Google’s financial services ad policy.
Every ad, page and email goes through your chief compliance officer before it runs, and we keep the approved versions on file. We report introductions, discovery meetings and new relationships, and we never write about returns.
That is the difference between generic RIA marketing and a wealth management digital marketing plan: RIA advertising that targets the moments complex wealth changes hands, built on your own data.
What wealth management firms need their marketing to solve.
These are the pressures we see at independent RIAs, multi-family offices and private wealth teams. They are why a wealth plan is built differently from a planner’s or a bank’s.
-
Families who do not self-identify
Almost nobody searches "high net worth advisor". The right families show up as a business owner, an executive with stock, or an heir, so targeting starts from the situation.
-
Competing with the bank they already use
Many prospects already have a private client desk at a large bank. The firm has to show what independence changes for them, without a single claim about beating anyone.
-
Rules on every word
The SEC marketing rule covers testimonials, endorsements, ratings and any performance shown, and Google limits how financial ads may run. Copy is approved before it runs.
-
Introducers who decide the shortlist
CPAs and estate attorneys bring the largest relationships. Marketing has to make the firm easy to refer and keep those partners informed.
-
Sales cycles measured in quarters
A family moving eight figures meets several firms and takes months. The firm that stays in touch, with useful and compliant material, is there when they decide.
-
Brand searches that hide intent
Searches for big wealth brands are often clients checking an account, but some are families comparing. Telling the two apart is where most of the budget is won or lost.
What affluent families search, and when.
Monthly searches and estimated click costs in the Charlotte area, with the US for scale. The curve shows a year-start rush for wealth firms, estate searches that dwarf wealth searches, and click costs that climb fast once a search says "private".
| Search | US / mo | Est. click cost, Charlotte |
|---|---|---|
| estate planning attorney | 301,000 | $5.00 to $19.18 |
| wealth management | 40,500 | $6.55 to $25.38 |
| wealth management services | 27,100 | $4.75 to $144.88 |
| wealth management firms | 12,100 | $5.10 to $14.74 |
| private banking | 12,100 | $6.96 to $40.00 |
| investment management firms | 12,100 | $6.61 to $25.21 |
| family office | 12,100 | $5.93 to $18.29 |
| wealth management charlotte | 210 | $4.75 to $20.30 |
| trust company | 5,400 | $6.47 to $13.70 |
| private wealth management | 3,600 | $12.99 to $38.28 |
- Wealth firms are chosen early in the year
- "wealth management services" jumped from 70 Charlotte-area searches in November 2025 to 1,600 in January 2026, "wealth management firms" from 70 in October and November 2025 to 390 in February 2026, and "family office" from 50 to 320 in the same months. Bonuses, tax letters and new-year reviews all land then, and a flat budget misses them.
- Estate searches outnumber wealth searches nine to one
- "estate planning attorney" averages 4,400 Charlotte-area searches a month against 480 for "wealth management", "estate planning lawyer" reached 8,100 in May 2026, and "estate planning attorney near me" went from 390 in August to 1,900 in September 2026. Those are attorney searches, so we exclude them; they show where wealth decisions start, and why attorney referral partners matter.
- The word "private" doubles the click
- "private wealth management" starts at $12.99 a click and "wealth advisor" at $9.69, while "wealth management charlotte" and "wealth management services" start at $4.75. One bank’s private banking search runs up to $300.61 at the high end, so the expensive terms get their own budget and their own page.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.
A multi-family office, a growing independent RIA and a private wealth team inside a larger firm need different plans. Four things set the starting point.
- Your minimum and your niche Business owners, executives with equity, physicians, inherited wealth. The minimum and the niche decide which searches, LinkedIn audiences and partners are worth paying for.
- Your compliance calendar Your chief compliance officer sets what an ad may say and how long approval takes. We plan creative and launches around that calendar, not against it.
- Your introducer network CPAs, estate attorneys and business brokers often send the largest relationships. We measure what they bring so paid channels reach families they never see.
- Your sales cycle Search and LinkedIn start conversations within weeks. Content, the listing and SEO lower what each new relationship costs over quarters, and email carries the months between.
Data sets the budget curve for the January and February rush, separates comparison searches from account logins, and ties every new relationship back to the search, post or introducer that started it.
Multi-family office
Families with complex estates
Family office and private wealth searches, introducer campaigns with estate attorneys and CPAs, and a slow, personal email path.
Independent RIA
Owners and executives
Comparison searches timed to the year-start rush, LinkedIn for owners before a sale, and pages by family situation.
Wealth team in a larger firm
Inside the firm’s ad rules
Local search and the team’s listing in approved wording, client introduction campaigns, and events promoted to the region.
If a Charlotte wealth management firm came to us, here is how we would start.
This is the plan we would pitch to a real client, built for a fictional Charlotte independent wealth firm with real Charlotte search data. The firm, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

How our specialists segment search demand by buyer intent
The firm would not buy bank logins, estate attorney searches or retirement research, however many there are. The account is split by what the family is doing, so the expensive private wealth terms carry their own budget, page and conversion value.
Asking for a wealth manager
Searchers who already want a firm. Run on Charlotte terms and near the office, with call extensions and a short introduction page.
| Search | Charlotte area / mo | Est. click cost |
|---|---|---|
| wealth management | 480 | $6.55 to $25.38 |
| wealth management charlotte | 110 | $4.75 to $20.30 |
| wealth management near me | 50 | $8.07 to $21.18 |
| wealth advisor | 50 | $9.69 to $43.77 |
Comparing firms
Families weighing their options, with the January and February rush. The page shows how the firm is paid, who custodies the assets and who the family will work with.
| Search | Charlotte area / mo | Est. click cost |
|---|---|---|
| wealth management services | 390 | $4.75 to $144.88 |
| wealth management firms | 170 | $5.10 to $14.74 |
| investment management firms | 140 | $6.61 to $25.21 |
| wealth management companies | 50 | $5.92 to $25.18 |
Private wealth and family office
The most expensive clicks and the largest relationships. A capped budget, a page on family office services, and ads that offer a private conversation, not a download.
| Search | Charlotte area / mo | Est. click cost |
|---|---|---|
| private banking | 140 | $6.96 to $40.00 |
| family office | 110 | $5.93 to $18.29 |
| private wealth management | 40 | $12.99 to $38.28 |
| multi family office | 20 | $7.67 to $23.53 |
Trusts and estate coordination
Families setting up trusts who need someone to manage what goes into them. Small volume, real decisions, and a page on working alongside the family’s attorney.
| Search | Charlotte area / mo | Est. click cost |
|---|---|---|
| trust company | 50 | $6.47 to $13.70 |
| fiduciaries near me | 40 | $5.20 to $24.43 |
| trust and estate planning | 30 | $1.77 to $14.00 |

A Google listing that a referred family checks
Financial planning services is one of the Local Services Ads categories, but pay-per-lead "near me" traffic rarely fits a firm with a high minimum, so we usually leave it off and win the map with the firm’s Google Business Profile: the wealth team’s photos and credentials, the services and families served, a link to the Form ADV and a reply to every review, written within the firm’s compliance policy. A family referred by its CPA looks the firm up before the first call, and this is often where they look.
The LinkedIn ad
Owners and executives rarely search for a wealth firm until a sale or a liquidity event is close. LinkedIn targeting by title, company size and industry reaches them years earlier, and the creative names the situation, never a return.
The email
Families moving significant assets decide over quarters. Each contact gets one useful, compliance-approved email at a time, tied to the situation that brought them in, and the series stops when they book a meeting.
Three advisers, one plan for the proceeds
You asked about planning ahead of a business sale. Taxes, trusts and how the proceeds are invested all touch each other, and they work best when your CPA, your attorney and your wealth team plan together. If it would help, we can walk through the questions to settle before signing, in a private conversation.
Request a private conversationThe landing page the ads send people to
Each keyword group has its own page: wealth manager searches see the team and the booking calendar, comparison searches see fees and custody, private wealth searches see family office services, and trust searches see estate coordination. Each asks for one thing.
Wealth management for business owners, before and after the sale
A Charlotte wealth team that works with your CPA and estate attorney on taxes, trusts and investments, so the proceeds have a plan before the money arrives.
- A fiduciary duty to you, in writing
- Fees stated before the first meeting

Other channels, only where they fit
Facebook and InstagramInside the financial category
When the ads run in Meta’s financial products and services category, age, ZIP code and lookalike targeting are off, so short videos from the wealth team and situation-led creative do the work, mostly as retargeting.
Microsoft AdsThe search plan on Bing
Comparison and private wealth searches mirrored on Bing, where business and older audiences are strong, kept if the cost per introduction matches Google’s.
YouTubeThe team, before the meeting
Short videos of the wealth team explaining how they work, shown to site visitors and LinkedIn audiences, so the first meeting starts with trust already built.
What each piece turns into, and how they hand off

What has worked for financial brands.
Results the platforms published for financial and insurance brands. They are those companies’ published results, not ours; each story shows what we would take from it.
Wealth management marketing from Charlotte.
We are a wealth management marketing agency based in Charlotte, one of the country’s largest banking centers, where many affluent families already have a private banker down the street. That shapes every plan: the bank and corporate executives in Uptown and SouthPark with equity to plan for, the business owners around Marvin and Weddington thinking about a sale, and the lake families in Davidson and Mooresville with estates that cross generations. We also work with wealth management firms nationwide; the SEC rules and the year-start rush travel, while the state, the competing firms and the local search demand change.
Six growth leaks we fix in wealth management ad accounts.
When we take over wealth firm accounts, these are the places we most often find budget and good families leaking, and what we change first.
Buying bank and brokerage logins
Big wealth brands bring huge volume, and most of it is clients checking an account. We exclude logins and service phrasing, and bid only on the comparison searches that remain.
Paying for estate attorney clicks
Estate searches are nine times larger than wealth searches in Charlotte, and nearly all want a lawyer. We exclude them and build the attorney relationships that bring those families instead.
Spending evenly all year
Wealth firm and family office searches rise sharply in January and February. We move the budget into those weeks and keep the private wealth terms on their own cap.
Counting every form as a lead
An inquiry far below the minimum costs the same click. We send qualified discovery meetings from the CRM back to the platforms, so bidding learns which families fit.
Copy that hints at returns
Performance language invites a compliance problem and attracts the wrong client. We write about the team, the fee model, custody and coordination, which is what affluent families ask about.
Nothing between meetings
A family moving complex assets can take two quarters to decide. Without an approved email path and retargeting, the firm is forgotten by the time they do.
Questions wealth management firms ask us.
What should a wealth management firm spend on marketing?
It depends on your minimum, your niche and what a new relationship is worth in fees over the years it stays. We start from the searches and audiences that fit your families and their click costs, weight the budget toward the year-start rush, and adjust it as discovery meetings and new relationships show what each channel returns.
Can wealthy families really be reached with ads?
Rarely by the words "high net worth", which almost nobody searches. They are reached by situation: comparison and private wealth searches, LinkedIn for owners and executives, retargeting with the team on video, and the referral partners who already advise them.
Can we advertise against the big private banks?
We keep other firms’ names out of the ad copy and bid on the comparison searches families use when they are weighing options, and we make the case for independence through how you are paid, who holds the assets and who they will work with.
Can we use testimonials or ratings?
Under the SEC marketing rule, registered investment advisers may use testimonials, endorsements and third-party ratings with the required disclosures, oversight and records. We plan review requests and any quotes with your chief compliance officer and keep a record of what was approved.
Is LinkedIn worth it for a wealth firm?
Often, for firms that serve business owners and executives. It is the one channel that can reach them by role and company years before a sale, and it works best with a longer email path behind it.
Do you work with wealth firms outside Charlotte?
Yes. We are based in Charlotte and work with wealth management firms nationwide. The method is the same everywhere; the state, your compliance setup and the local search demand change.
