Private schools
Private school marketing that turns inquiries into enrolled families
A family picks a private school once and pays tuition for years, after months of comparing campuses, open houses, faith, class sizes and scholarships. We plan search, the Google listing, social ads to parents, admission pages and follow-up email around that decision, and judge them by visits, applications and signed enrollment contracts.
- 6.6xCharlotte-area searches for "opportunity scholarship nc" in February 2026 (6,600) against November 2025 (1,000)
- 5xCharlotte searches for "private school" in July 2026 (2,400) against December 2025 (480)
- 2xlow end of the Charlotte click cost for "montessori school near me" ($3.75) against "private schools near me" ($1.90)
- 2,400Charlotte-area searches a month for "opportunity scholarship nc", more than for "private schools near me" (1,300)
The short answer
What makes private school marketing different from other school marketing?
Private school marketing sells a decision that families make once and pay for over many years, so the plan follows the admission calendar and the scholarship calendar and counts visits, applications and enrollment contracts, not form fills.
In the private school accounts we audit, ads usually run hard from fall open houses to the spring application deadline, then stop. The data says families keep deciding: Charlotte searches for "private school" peaked at 2,400 in July 2026, and scholarship searches spike when the state application opens the first Monday in February (NCSEAA). We build private school ads by grade band and program, pair them with the Google listing, social ads to parents and a page for each division, and keep seats sold until the first day of school. Ads speak to parents, since Google restricts personalized ads for users under 18.
Our specialists replace generic private school advertising ideas with a school enrollment plan built on your divisions, your mission, your tuition and the months your families actually search, measured by the cost of each enrolled student against what that family pays over its years at the school.
What private schools need their marketing to solve.
These are the pressures we see in accounts for independent, faith-based, Montessori and college-prep schools. They are why a private school plan is built differently from a daycare, a tutoring center or a college plan.
-
An admission season, then late deciders
Open houses run in fall, applications close in winter and contracts go out in spring. A second wave of families moves to town or rethinks a public school over the summer.
-
Tuition paid for years
One enrolled kindergartner can stay through high school, and siblings often follow. A good student is worth far more than a single year of tuition suggests.
-
Divisions with their own seats
Lower, middle and upper school fill differently. Kindergarten and ninth grade are the big entry points; other grades have only a few open seats.
-
Mission is the product
Faith, classical, Montessori or college prep: families choose a school for what it believes and how it teaches, and the ads have to say it plainly.
-
Students are minors
Ads go to parents, never to students, and photos and video show students only with written parent consent. Campus, classrooms and teachers carry the story.
-
Re-enrollment matters as much
Every family that leaves is a seat to sell again. Re-enrollment season and the parent community decide next year as much as new inquiries do.
What parents search for private schools, and when.
Charlotte-market monthly searches and estimated click costs for private, faith-based, Montessori and boarding school searches and scholarship searches, with the US view beside them. The curves differ, so the notes below read the months.
| Search | US / mo | Est. click cost, Charlotte |
|---|---|---|
| opportunity scholarship nc | 9,900 | $0.70 to $5.00 |
| private schools near me | 90,500 | $1.90 to $6.83 |
| private schools charlotte nc | 2,400 | $0.99 to $4.87 |
| private school | 90,500 | $2.73 to $7.15 |
| montessori school near me | 74,000 | $3.75 to $16.01 |
| boarding schools | 60,500 | $1.74 to $5.73 |
| christian schools near me | 33,100 | $1.93 to $8.12 |
| catholic schools near me | 33,100 | $2.28 to $7.04 |
| best private schools in charlotte | 390 | $0.34 to $4.29 |
| private elementary schools near me | 12,100 | $2.78 to $11.56 |
- Scholarship searches set the winter peak
- "opportunity scholarship nc" held 1,000 to 1,600 Charlotte searches a month in late 2025, rose to 3,600 in January, 6,600 in February and 3,600 in March 2026, then 3,600 again in August 2026. Families researching the scholarship are choosing a school at the same time, and few schools are in front of them.
- Families still decide in summer
- "private school" fell to 480 searches in December 2025, rose to 1,900 in March and peaked at 2,400 in July 2026, with 1,600 in August. "private schools near me" held 1,600 a month from January to April and again in August. The admission season ends on the school calendar, not in search.
- Montessori clicks cost twice as much
- "montessori school near me" ran $3.75 to $16.01 a click in the Charlotte market, against $1.90 to $6.83 for "private schools near me" and $1.93 to $8.12 for "christian schools near me". The district’s public Montessori magnets draw thousands of searches by name, so a private Montessori campaign needs tight negatives.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.
A Christian K to 12 school with open seats in sixth grade and a Montessori school with a waitlist for its primary rooms need different plans. Four things decide where a private school plan starts.
- Your divisions and entry grades Lower, middle and upper school, and the grades with real openings. Budget follows the seats you need to fill this year.
- Your admission calendar Open house dates, application deadlines, contract dates and the scholarship window. Pages, the listing and parent email are ready before each one.
- Your family economics Tuition, aid, how many years a family stays and how many siblings follow set what a visit, an application and an enrolled student can cost.
- Your competition Other independent and faith-based schools, charter and magnet lotteries, and the public school a family is leaving. We find the families and grades where you win.
Data sets the budget for each division, ties every visit, application and contract to the search, listing or ad that started it, and moves spend when a grade fills or a deadline nears.

If a private school came to us, here is how we would start.
This is the pitch we would give a real client, built for a fictional Mint Hill K to 12 school with real search data. The school, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

How our negative keyword governance protects the budget
- Other schools by name, including public magnets and charters
- Teaching jobs and staff openings
- Homeschool curricula and online schools
- Public school assignment and bus routes
- College scholarships and financial aid forms
- Grades and programs the school does not offer
Private school searches pull in families looking for a named public or charter school, job seekers, homeschoolers and parents searching college aid. Our specialists exclude them before launch and review search terms every week, so the budget reaches families who could enroll.

The school listing and the map
"Private schools near me" and "christian schools near me" bring up the map, and parents compare listings before they open a single website. The listing would name each division and grade range, show the school day, photos of the campus, classrooms and chapel with no student faces, and a link to book a visit. We ask current families for reviews after the first semester and at re-enrollment, never in exchange for anything, and reply to every one.
The Facebook ad
Parents compare schools for months before they apply. These ads reach adults near the campus and people who visited an admission page, never students and never anyone chosen by data about their children, and they show the campus, not students.
The email
A visit with no follow-up is the costliest leak in a school account. A same-day note from admission, then a short series through the deadline, turns more visits into applications, and re-enrollment email keeps current families.

Private school marketing services, and which come first.
The four core services carry most private school plans. Email and the Google listing matter more than in most trades, because admission runs on follow-up and a family that re-enrolls each year costs nothing to win again.

What has worked for education programs.
Results the ad and email platforms published for education programs. They are those organizations’ published results, not ours; each story shows what we would take from it for a private school.
Private school marketing from Charlotte, for schools in every market.
We are based in Charlotte, where families in Mint Hill, Matthews, Huntersville, Marvin and the suburbs weigh independent, faith-based and Montessori schools against magnet and charter lotteries and their neighborhood public school. Most families drive a child to school every day, so we plan each campus on the search data of its own drive time. We also work with private schools nationwide, with each campaign built on its own market’s data and its own state’s scholarship calendar.
Six enrollment leaks we fix in private school accounts.
When we take over private school accounts, these are the places we most often find visits and enrollments leaking, and what we change first.
Going dark after the deadline
Ads stop in spring while private school searches peak in July. We keep a rolling admission campaign live through August for grades with open seats.
Missing the scholarship window
Scholarship searches outnumber private school searches from January to March, and few schools answer them. We run a scholarship campaign and an aid page for that window.
One campaign for every grade
Kindergarten, middle school and high school share one budget, so the grade with the most open seats gets the least. We split by division and fund the openings.
Ads that show or target students
Student photos without written consent, or audiences aimed at teens, risk families’ trust and platform limits. We aim at parents and show the campus and teachers.
A visit with no follow-up
Families tour three or four schools in a few weeks. We send a note from admission the same day, with the application and the dates that matter.
Counting inquiries, not contracts
Accounts optimized for form fills buy the cheapest inquiries. We send applications and signed contracts back to the ad platforms so bidding learns which families enroll.
Questions private school leaders ask us.
What should a private school spend on ads?
It depends on how many seats are open in each grade, what a family pays over its years at the school and how crowded the searches are near your campus. We start from the searches and click costs in your area, set a budget for each division with openings, and adjust it as visit and application data come in.
When should a private school advertise?
From fall open houses through the application deadline, and again in summer. In the Charlotte area, "private school" searches fell to 480 in December 2025 and peaked at 2,400 in July 2026, so a school with open seats keeps a rolling admission campaign live until the first day.
Should we advertise to Opportunity Scholarship families?
If your school accepts the scholarship, yes. "opportunity scholarship nc" drew 2,400 Charlotte-area searches a month on average and 6,600 in February 2026, when the state application opens. A campaign and an aid page for that window reach families choosing a school at the same time.
Can we run private school ads to teenagers?
No. Google restricts personalized ads for users under 18, and parents make the decision. We aim private school ads at parents and adults near the campus and people who visited your pages, and keep students out of ad photos and video unless parents give written consent.
Why are Montessori ads more expensive?
Montessori searches carry higher bids than general private school searches. In the Charlotte market "montessori school near me" ran $3.75 to $16.01 a click against $1.90 to $6.83 for "private schools near me". Montessori programs need their own budget and negatives for public Montessori magnets by name.
Do you work with private schools outside Charlotte?
Yes. We are based in Charlotte and work with private schools across the US. The method is the same everywhere; the admission calendar, the scholarship programs and the competing schools change with each market.
