Omnisend success story · Aromatherapy diffuser brand
How Organic Aromas grew newsletter sign-ups 150% in four weeks with Omnisend forms.
An essential oil diffuser brand was signing up about 3% of its visitors. Instead of guessing which form would work better, it tested a different Omnisend form every week for a month, and more than doubled the leads it was capturing.

- United States, online store on Shopify
- Goal
- More email sign-ups from the same traffic
The results.
Compared with the store’s average over the seven months before the test: a 3.24% sign-up rate and 264 new leads a month. Omnisend does not state the year of the test.

The challenge.
Organic Aromas sells nebulizing essential oil diffusers for aromatherapy from its Shopify store. Its sign-up rate swung between 1.75% and 4.47% a month and averaged 3.24% over seven months, using Shopify’s built-in form and a sign-up bar from another app.
Every visitor who left without joining the list was a visitor the brand would have to pay to bring back. The question was simple: which kind of form would turn more of them into subscribers, without slowing the store down or costing money to find out?
What they did.
Exit-intent pop-up · Immediate pop-up · Click-triggered pop-up · Sign-up box
- Week one: exit-intent pop-up
- A form that appears as the visitor moves to leave, built with Omnisend forms and pop-ups.
- Week two: immediate pop-up
- Shown as soon as a visitor arrived. It signed up 6.8% of visitors and 135 new subscribers in one week, and 10 of them bought.
- Week three: pop-up after three clicks
- Shown only to visitors who had browsed a little. It caught fewer sign-ups but produced 17 extra orders in seven days.
- Week four: sign-up box with no discount
- A small box at the bottom of the page, with no offer, subscribed 0.81% of visitors. The test showed how much the offer and the timing matter.
Why it worked.
Our read on the decisions behind the numbers, and what any business can take from them.
- One change at a time
- Each week tested one form type, so the brand could see exactly which one moved the numbers.
- Timing is half the form
- The same offer signed up very different numbers of people depending on when it appeared. The immediate pop-up won on sign-ups; the click-triggered one won on orders.
- Cheap to find out
- Each form took about 15 minutes to build, roughly an hour in total, with no extra spend. The test added 40 orders.
- A list is an asset you own
- Every subscriber can be reached again by automated welcome emails and campaigns, without paying for the click a second time.
How we would run this play for your business.
You do not need a national budget to use the same ideas. This is how Overtop Media Digital Marketing puts them to work in our Omnisend email, SMS and push management.
- Measure your real sign-up rate
- We start with the numbers: visitors, sign-ups and first orders from subscribers, so every test has a baseline.
- Test forms on a schedule
- In our Omnisend email, SMS and push management, we test pop-up timing, offers and designs for desktop and mobile separately, and keep the winners.
- Turn sign-ups into first orders
- A welcome series that follows every new subscriber, written for your product and your best reasons to buy.
- Send more of the right visitors
- Search and social ads from the same team feed the forms, and the list keeps their value long after the click. See Meta ads management.
Who this play fits.
You do not have to be an aromatherapy diffuser brand to use the same approach. It is a strong fit for:
- Health and wellness brands
- Stores with steady traffic and a small list
- Single-product or hero-product brands
- Shopify stores using built-in forms
- Brands that want proof before they spend
- Any business that wants more subscribers
