Immigration

Immigration lawyer marketing in two languages, for every kind of case

A spouse waiting on a green card, an engineer with an H-1B deadline, a family facing a removal hearing: immigration clients search in English and Spanish, compare firms for weeks and often call on behalf of someone else. We plan search, Local Services Ads, the Google listing and bilingual intake around each case type, inside attorney advertising rules, and measure every dollar by retained matters.

  • 1,000Charlotte-area searches a month for "immigration lawyer charlotte", steady between 720 and 1,600 all year
  • $7.71low end of an "abogado de inmigración" click, against $4.02 for "immigration lawyer"
  • 6,600"immigration lawyer" searches in May and September 2026, against 480 in February
  • 390"immigration attorney near me" searches in August and September 2026, up from 90 in February

The short answer

What should immigration lawyer marketing do for an immigration firm?

Immigration lawyer marketing should reach people at the moment a family petition, a work visa, a status renewal or a removal case needs a lawyer, in the language they search in, and turn that first call into a retained matter.

Immigration is federal law, so an immigration attorney licensed in North Carolina can represent clients across the country, and the market is wider than a county map. Charlotte searches name the city about 1,000 times a month, and Spanish searches cost more per click than English ones. In immigration firm accounts we audit, we see Spanish ads that land on English pages, one campaign for every case type, and budgets spent on people looking for free help or a government form. We plan immigration law firm marketing, Local Services Ads, immigration law SEO and bilingual intake as one system, judged by cost per retained case.

What immigration firms need their marketing to solve.

These are the pressures we see in immigration accounts. They come from a practice with federal reach, clients in many languages and case types as different as a fiance visa and a deportation defense.

  • Spanish that runs end to end

A Spanish ad that lands on an English page, or a call answered only in English, loses the client the ad paid for. Ads, pages, forms, intake and follow-up all need the same language.

  • One campaign per case type

Family petitions, work visas, humanitarian cases, naturalization and removal defense draw different people, budgets and fees. Mixed together, the cheapest searches take the whole budget.

  • Reach past the county line

A firm that files with federal agencies and appears in immigration court can serve clients in many states by video. The plan follows the case types the firm wants, not only the city it sits in.

  • Callers the firm can actually help

Searches for free lawyers, government forms, case status lookups, Canadian immigration and other firms by name sit close to paying searches. Sorting them out early protects the budget and the intake team.

  • Trust in a market with notario fraud

Immigrant communities have been hurt by non-lawyers selling legal help. Every ad and page names the licensed attorneys, never looks like a government office, and never promises an outcome.

  • Long cases tied back to the search

Many clients compare firms for weeks, and a family may retain for several cases over years. Sending retained matters back from the practice software shows which searches produce paying clients.

The city name holds steady while the plain term swings
"immigration lawyer" ran 480 to 1,300 Charlotte-area searches a month from October 2025 to April 2026, then reached 6,600 in May and again in September 2026. "immigration lawyer charlotte" stayed between 720 and 1,600 all year, peaking in November 2025. Searches that name the city are the dependable base; the plain term needs budget held for its surges.
Spanish costs more, and free costs the most
The low end of an "abogado de inmigración" click is $7.71, against $4.02 for "immigration lawyer" and $5.36 for the Charlotte version, with the high end reaching $50. "abogados de inmigración gratis" starts at $2.58: cheap, but those searchers want free help. Spanish campaigns are worth their price only when the page and the phone answer in Spanish.
Each case type keeps its own calendar
"immigration lawyer for green card" peaked at 880 in March 2026, then fell to 70 in August and 10 in September. "h1b immigration lawyer" sat near 50 to 70 a month and jumped to 390 in June 2026. "deportation immigration lawyer" spiked to 210 in November 2025. "daca renewal" averaged 170 with no click estimate, many of them people filing the form on their own.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.

A solo attorney focused on family petitions, a bilingual firm with removal defense and a business immigration practice serving employers need different plans. Four things decide where an immigration plan starts.

  • Your case types Family-based, employment, humanitarian, naturalization, DACA or removal defense. Each draws different searches, takes a different time to retain and pays a different fee.
  • Your languages If intake answers in Spanish, or in Portuguese, Hindi or Vietnamese, campaigns in those languages can run. If not, the plan sets up bilingual answering first, then spends.
  • Your fees and budget A naturalization filing and a contested removal case are far apart, so each case type carries its own target cost per retained client.
  • Your reach Local only, statewide, or national by video consultation. Federal practice lets a firm target case types across many states, where the city-named bidders never look.

Data sets the budget split between English and Spanish, between case types and between Charlotte and national campaigns, and shows which searches retain at the best cost.

  • Family-based practice

Steady green card and spousal cases

Charlotte and near me searches, Local Services Ads, a bilingual Google listing and pages for each petition type.

  • Bilingual full-service firm

    Lower cost per retained case

Separate English and Spanish campaigns, removal and humanitarian cases on their own budget, retainers sent back to the ad platforms.

  • Business immigration practice

    Employers and skilled workers

Work visa and investor searches nationwide, LinkedIn ads to HR and founders, and SEO for each visa type the firm files.

How our specialists segment search demand by buyer intent

We would run four campaigns, each with its own budget and page: the core English searches, Charlotte and near me, Spanish, and the case types searched by name. Every Spanish ad goes to a Spanish page with a Spanish-speaking line.

The bulk of the volume, with surges in May and September. Exact and phrase match, with budget held back for the surge months.

The steadiest searches in the plan. Call ads, the map listing and a radius around the Charlotte immigration court and the firm’s office.

How our negative keyword governance protects the budget

  • Free, gratis and pro bono lawyer searches
  • Government forms, fees, case status and USCIS lookups
  • Canadian and other countries’ immigration searches
  • Other firms and attorneys searched by name
  • Immigration consultants, notarios and visa agents
  • Immigration officer, paralegal and law school jobs

"abogados de inmigración gratis" starts at $2.58 a click and pro bono searches at $1.88, and Canadian immigration lawyer searches show up in Charlotte data too. Our specialists exclude them, and form and status lookups, before launch, then review search terms every week.

How we write and test the Google search ads

Local Services Ads and the map

Local Services Ads include immigration law, so an immigration firm can appear in pay-per-lead listings above the regular results. Once its attorneys clear Google’s license and background checks, Harrowlin Immigration Law shows the Google Verified badge. We would list each case type the firm takes, add Spanish as a language spoken, and dispute leads asking for free help or another country’s visas. Reviews on its Google Business Profile, in both languages, carry the near me map results that rose through summer 2026.

The Facebook ad

Meta’s rules bar ads that assert or imply personal attributes about the viewer, such as ethnicity, so the copy describes the case types and never addresses the reader’s status. Family petitions suit social ads because people plan them over months; urgent removal cases belong on search.

Immigration lawyer marketing from Charlotte, for firms anywhere.

We are based in Charlotte, where an immigration court and a large Spanish-speaking community sit inside one metro that spans two states. Immigration firms here compete for the same searches from Concord to Gastonia and south into Rock Hill, and every Charlotte plan uses local search numbers and the State Bar’s advertising rules. Because immigration is federal practice, we also work nationwide: a firm in any state gets its own market data, its own languages and its own bar’s rules.

Six places immigration accounts lose cases.

These are the gaps we find most often when we take over an immigration firm’s account, and the first things we change.

  1. Spanish ads, English everything else

A Spanish click that lands on an English page, or reaches voicemail in English, is paid for and lost. We run Spanish only where the page, the form and the phone all answer in Spanish.

  2. Every case type in one campaign

Green card, work visa and removal searches share a budget, so the cheapest terms win and the cases the firm wants most go unfunded. We split them, each with its own page and target cost.

  3. Paying for free help and form filers

Free and pro bono searches, DACA renewal form questions and USCIS status lookups look like client searches to broad match. We exclude them and point those people to the right resources.

  4. Ads that look official

Government seals, agency-style names and lines that imply a link to USCIS draw platform disapprovals and erode trust. We name the firm and its licensed attorneys in every ad.

  5. Results and promises a bar would flag

Approval rates, "guaranteed green card" lines and "immigration specialist" claims all need care; North Carolina allows "specialist" only for lawyers the State Bar has board certified. Translated ads carry the same rules as English ones. The firm’s attorneys approve every piece first.

  6. A map drawn around the office

Federal practice lets a firm serve clients by video far from Charlotte, yet many accounts target a 25 mile radius. We test statewide and national case type campaigns where the firm takes remote clients.

Questions immigration attorneys ask us.

What should an immigration firm budget for search ads?

It depends on your case types, your fees and the languages your intake answers in. In the Charlotte area, "immigration lawyer" clicks start near $4, while Spanish searches start near $8. We begin with Charlotte and near me searches, hold budget for the spring and fall surges, and adjust as retained matters come in.

Should we advertise in Spanish?

Yes, if someone answers in Spanish. Spanish searches cost more per click in Charlotte, so they pay off only when the ad, the page, the form and the phone all work in Spanish. The same plan applies to any other language your attorneys and staff speak.

Can we market to clients outside North Carolina?

Often, yes. Immigration is federal law, and many firms serve clients in other states by video. We set up statewide or national campaigns for the case types you take remotely, while your own bar’s advertising rules still apply.

Do bar rules apply to our immigration ads?

Yes, to every ad, page, video, mailer and review you use, in every language. Our copy describes case types and the process, avoids outcome promises and "specialist" claims you cannot back, and an attorney at the firm signs off on each piece before it runs.

Is SEO worth it for an immigration firm?

Usually, for the case types and languages you want for years. Pages for each petition, visa and defense, in English and Spanish, rank for searches with few ad bidders, such as green card and work visa terms, and lower the cost of each later case.

How do you measure success?

Retained matters and what each cost, by case type, language and channel, plus held consultations and the share of calls answered. Clicks matter only as far as they lead there.
