Wedding planners
Wedding planner marketing that books couples, not planner apps
In the Charlotte area, "wedding planner" is searched about 880 times a month and 1,000 times in January, March and October, then drops to 480 in September. Many of those searchers want a planner book or an app, not a person. We plan search, social ads, Pinterest and email to reach engaged couples, and we count consultations and signed couples.
- 1,000searches for "wedding planner" in the Charlotte area in January 2026, against 480 in September
- $1.17 to $4.77estimated cost of one click on "wedding planners charlotte nc", against $2.25 to $6.97 without the city
- 390of the 720 monthly US searches for "wedding planners charlotte nc" come from the Charlotte area
- $3.70 to $18.61estimated click cost for "destination wedding planner", the most expensive planner search here
The short answer
Where should wedding planner marketing start?
Wedding planner marketing should reach newly engaged couples in the weeks after the proposal, show them which level of planning fits their wedding, and turn the inquiry into a consultation before another planner books the date.
The planner accounts we audit usually pay for the bare word "planner" and get people looking for a planning book, a budget spreadsheet, a wedding website or an app. The couples worth paying for search with a city, with near me, or for the service they want: full planning, a day-of coordinator, a destination or an elopement. We plan Google Ads for wedding planners, social ads, SEO and email around the engagement season, and Google’s lead form assets let a couple send their date, venue and guest count from the ad. We read results as consultations and signed couples.
As a wedding planner marketing partner, we keep full planning, day-of coordination and destination weddings in separate campaigns, because each is searched differently and worth a different amount.
What wedding planners need their marketing to solve.
These are the problems we find in wedding planner ad accounts and inboxes. They are why a planner’s plan differs from a venue’s or a corporate event planner’s.
-
Proposals in December, searches in January
Holiday engagements turn into planner searches right after New Year. A planner with no budget ready in January meets those couples after they have booked someone else.
-
Your job title is also a product
"Wedding planner" is the name of books, binders, apps and websites. Paying for every search with the word in it buys a lot of couples who never meant to hire anyone.
-
Couples who ask the price first
Cost searches climb with the January rush. A couple who cannot tell full planning from day-of coordination compares on price alone and leaves.
-
Every client hires you once
There is no repeat wedding. Growth depends on the reviews, referrals and real-wedding features each couple leaves behind.
-
Venues and vendors send the best couples
Venue coordinators, photographers and florists recommend planners every week. A planner they cannot easily point to loses the couples they trust most.
-
A limited number of Saturdays
A planner can only run so many weddings in peak season. Marketing has to fill the right dates with the right couples, not just add inquiries.
What engaged couples search, and when.
Monthly searches and estimated click costs for searches a wedding planner competes for. The yearly averages flatten the useful part, so the notes below read the monthly curve.
| Search | US / mo | Est. click cost, Charlotte |
|---|---|---|
| wedding planner | 74,000 | $2.25 to $6.97 |
| wedding planners charlotte nc | 720 | $1.17 to $4.77 |
| wedding planners near me | 12,100 | $1.31 to $4.91 |
| wedding planner cost | 8,100 | $0.65 to $2.01 |
| wedding coordinator | 6,600 | $1.34 to $4.47 |
| day of wedding coordinator | 6,600 | $1.23 to $3.40 |
| destination wedding planner | 4,400 | $3.70 to $18.61 |
| day of coordinator | 1,900 | $0.99 to $4.52 |
| month of wedding coordinator | 260 | $1.50 to $2.93 |
| elopement planner | 1,000 | $1.03 to $3.89 |
- The January rush after holiday proposals
- Nationally, "wedding planner" jumped from 74,000 searches in December 2025 to 110,000 in January 2026. In the Charlotte area, "day of wedding coordinator" went from 70 in November to 210 in January, and "wedding planner cost" from 90 to 210. Local searches for "wedding planner" held near 880 a month until July, then fell to 590 in August and 480 in September.
- The city name halves the click cost
- "Wedding planners charlotte nc" costs $1.17 to $4.77 a click here, against $2.25 to $6.97 for "wedding planner" alone, and it drew 390 to 480 searches every month of the year. Couples who type the city have already decided to hire someone local. Destination couples are the costly exception: "destination wedding planner" runs $3.70 to $18.61.
- Books, apps and websites share the word
- "Aisle planner", a planning app, draws 320 searches a month here at as little as $0.07 a click. "Wedding planning websites" ran 590 a month from October to December 2025, then fell to 40 to 50. "Wedding budget planner" and "wedding timeline planner" add 90 each. These people want a tool, not a planner, and without exclusions the account pays for them.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.
A full-service planner, a day-of coordinator and a destination planner sell different promises to different couples. Four things decide where a plan starts.
- Your goals More full planning clients, fewer price shoppers, a fuller fall calendar, or a move into destination and multi-day weddings. Each starts in a different place.
- Your timeline Search and lead forms bring consultations within weeks of the January rush. SEO for your services, venues and real weddings builds over a year.
- Your budget and what a couple is worth A full planning contract is worth several day-of bookings, so it can carry a higher cost per consultation and a longer follow-up.
- Your competition Wedding directories, venue coordinators, planning apps and national destination firms change which searches are worth paying for.
Data sets the budget curve around the January rush, ties each inquiry, consultation and signed couple to the search, ad, referral or email that started it, and shows which dates on your calendar still need a couple.
Full-service planner
Win the year-long contract
City and planner searches in January, Pinterest and Instagram with real weddings, a consultation form that asks date, venue and guest count, and email that stays with the couple while they decide.
Day-of and month-of coordinator
Fill the calendar at volume
Coordinator searches at lower click costs, a clear page on what the service covers, and steady referrals from venues that do not run the day themselves.
Destination and elopement planner
Reach couples far from home
Destination and elopement searches nationwide, video from real weddings, and a longer inquiry path for couples planning from another state.
If a wedding planner came to us, here is how we would start.
This is the pitch we would give a real client, built for a fictional wedding planning studio in Charlotte with real search data. The business, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

How our specialists segment search demand by buyer intent
We would split the account by the kind of planning a couple wants, because a couple hiring a planner for the whole year, one who needs someone to run the day and one marrying away from home search differently and are worth very different amounts.

The Google listing and lead forms
Wedding planners are not a Local Services Ads category; the Google Business Profile carries the near me and city searches. We would list full planning, coordination and destination weddings as services, add photos from each real wedding with the couple’s permission, reply to every review and ask each couple for one after the honeymoon. Lead form assets on the search ads collect the date, venue and guest count, so the first call is a real consultation.
The Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest ad
Couples save ideas for months before they hire anyone. We run Instagram and Facebook to newly engaged couples in the Charlotte area from late December to March, and Pinterest pins of real weddings all year, so the planner is already familiar when the couple starts searching.
The email
Most couples talk to two or three planners before they sign. This goes out the day after an inquiry, a second email follows a week later, and after the wedding a last one asks for a review and a referral, the way most new couples find a planner.
Thanks for telling us about your wedding
Here are three real weddings close to yours in size and style, the vendors that book first for your season, and the dates we still have open. A short consultation is the easiest way to see whether we are the right fit.
Book my consultationThe landing page the ads send people to
Couples compare planners on trust and fit, and most are planning a wedding for the first time. The page shows real weddings, makes the difference between the services clear and asks for the date first, so each inquiry arrives ready for a consultation.

Wedding planner marketing services, and which come first.
The four core services carry most wedding planner plans. The others join where couples spend their time; a destination planner and a day-of coordinator rarely need the same mix.

Wedding planner marketing in Charlotte, and wherever your couples are.
We are based in Charlotte, where couples marry in uptown hotels, lake houses on Lake Norman, estates in Weddington and barns across the surrounding counties, and where planners compete with venue coordinators, directories and planners from the mountains and the coast. We plan campaigns for Charlotte-area planners on the search data of their own market, and for planners who bring couples here from other states. We also work with wedding planners and destination specialists nationwide.
Six booking leaks we fix in wedding planner ad accounts.
When we take over wedding planner accounts, these are the places we most often find couples slipping away, and what we change first.
Paying for planner books and apps
The word planner brings in binders, printables, apps and wedding websites. We exclude them before launch and read the search terms every week.
Full planning and day-of in one campaign
A couple hiring a year of planning and one who wants the day run need different ads, pages and follow-up. We split them so each is judged on its own value.
Leaving the city name to chance
City searches here cost about half as much per click as the bare job title and come from couples ready to hire locally. We make sure they never run out of budget.
Spending evenly from January to December
Coordinator and cost searches more than doubled from November to January. We hold money for the weeks after the holiday proposals and ease off in late summer.
A directory listing as the only channel
Directories send the same couple to many planners at once. We build your own site, listing and ads, so couples arrive having chosen you.
No ask after the wedding
Every couple hires a planner once. We set up review requests, referral asks and real wedding features, so each wedding brings in the next one.
Questions wedding planners ask us.
What is wedding planner marketing?
Wedding planner marketing is the search ads, listings, social ads, Pinterest and email that bring engaged couples to a planner and turn them into consultations, signed couples and referrals. For us it is measured in consultations and signed contracts, planned around the months couples hire planners in your market.
How much should a wedding planner spend on advertising?
It depends on how many weddings you can take, which services you sell and what each contract is worth. We start from the searches around you and their click costs, weight the budget toward the weeks after the holiday proposals, and adjust as signed couples come in.
Is the Google listing enough without ads?
It carries many near me searches and is where couples read reviews, so it comes first. Ads add the January rush, the city searches you do not yet rank for, and couples planning from another state.
Do Google Ads work for wedding planners?
Yes, when the account pays for couples and not for planner books, apps, templates and students. Search catches couples the moment they look for help; the consultation and follow-up decide whether they sign.
Should we advertise day-of coordination or full planning?
Usually both, in separate campaigns. Day-of searches cost less and fill dates quickly; full planning is worth more and needs a longer follow-up. Your calendar and your margins decide the split.
Do you work with wedding planners outside Charlotte?
Yes. We are based in Charlotte and work with wedding planners and destination specialists across the US. The method is the same; the seasons, the click costs and the competition change by market.
