Event planners
Event planner marketing that wins corporate clients, not just inquiries
In the Charlotte area, searches for "event planner" climb to 590 in January and 720 in September, then fall to 140 in July. A corporate client is worth far more than a birthday party and costs about three times as much to reach. We plan search, social ads, LinkedIn and email around those two seasons, and we count signed events, not form fills.
- 720searches for "event planner" in the Charlotte area in September 2026, against 140 in July
- $3.32 to $15estimated cost of one click on "corporate event planner", Charlotte area
- 260of the 390 monthly US searches for "event planning charlotte nc" come from the Charlotte area

The short answer
What should event planner marketing pay for first?
Good event planner marketing finds the companies and hosts who are booking a planner now, months before the date, and keeps them talking to you until the contract is signed.
Most event planner accounts we audit pay for the word "event" and get job seekers, students looking for a certification, software buyers and people collecting team building ideas. The buyers worth paying for search for a planner near them, a planning company by city or a corporate event planner, and they search in two waves: January and February for spring conferences and galas, August and September for fall programs and holiday parties. We plan Google Ads for event planners, social ads, SEO and email as one pipeline, and Google’s lead form assets let a busy office manager send a brief from the ad itself. We read results as discovery calls, proposals and signed events.
As an event planner marketing partner, we separate corporate clients from private parties, because they search with different words, at different click costs, and decide on different timelines.
What event planners need their marketing to solve.
These are the pressures we see in event planning ad accounts and inboxes. They are why a planner’s plan is built differently from a venue’s or a hotel’s.
-
Two booking seasons a year
Companies book planners in January for spring programs and in late summer for fall events and holiday parties. Spend spread evenly misses both waves.
-
Corporate and social clients
An HR lead planning a retreat and a parent planning a sweet sixteen use different words, need different proof and are worth very different amounts.
-
Briefs that never become proposals
Many inquiries arrive without a date, a budget or a headcount. Without a short qualifying form, the team spends its week on calls that were never going to sign.
-
Selling a service nobody can see
A planner has no storefront and no product. Buyers judge by past events, the brands that trusted you and how quickly you answer.
-
Annual events that walk away
The company that hired you for this year’s gala starts looking again next year. Without a reason to stay in touch, the repeat booking goes to whoever answers first.
-
Referrals that need a second look
Most new clients hear your name from someone. They still search it, check the reviews and look at the portfolio before they call.
What event clients search, and when.
Monthly searches and estimated click costs for searches an event planner competes for. The yearly averages hide the useful part, so the notes below the table read the monthly curve.
| Search | US / mo | Est. click cost, Charlotte |
|---|---|---|
| event planner | 22,200 | $1.81 to $7.34 |
| event planning charlotte nc | 390 | $1.24 to $5.24 |
| event management | 8,100 | $1.82 to $6.96 |
| event coordinator | 6,600 | $0.91 to $8.24 |
| event planners near me | 8,100 | $1.09 to $4.16 |
| party planner | 6,600 | $1.21 to $3.56 |
| party planners near me | 4,400 | $0.89 to $4.32 |
| corporate event planner | 2,900 | $3.32 to $15.00 |
| event management company | 3,600 | $2.45 to $8.00 |
| team building events | 1,600 | $5.01 to $22.84 |
- Two seasons, and a quiet summer
- "Event planner" in the Charlotte area ran at 170 searches in November and December 2025, jumped to 590 in January 2026 and 480 in February, slid to 140 in July, then climbed to 480 in August and 720 in September. Spring conferences and galas are booked in winter; fall programs and holiday parties are booked at the end of summer.
- Corporate clicks cost about three times more
- "Corporate event planner" costs $3.32 to $15 a click here, against $1.21 to $3.56 for "party planner". "Team building events" runs $5.01 to $22.84, while "team building activities", 320 searches a month, costs $0.80 to $3.21 and "team meeting ice breakers" as little as $0.02. The cheap searches want free ideas; the expensive ones want someone to run the day.
- Job seekers and software buyers search the same words
- "Event coordinator" climbed to 140 searches in August 2026, a hiring month, and "certified event planner" draws about 40 a month from people building a career. "Event management platform" runs $4.39 to $118.30 a click because software companies bid on it. Without exclusions, a planner pays for all three. Retreats show up too: "corporate retreat team building activities" went from about 10 searches a month to 140 in May 2026.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.
A corporate planner, a social and party planner and a full-service production company sell different things to different buyers. Four things decide where a plan starts.
- Your goals More corporate accounts, a fuller party calendar, bigger budgets per event or more repeat annual programs. Each one starts in a different place.
- Your timeline Search and lead forms bring inquiries within weeks of each season. SEO for your services and city pages, and LinkedIn to company decision makers, build over a year.
- Your budget and what an event is worth A recurring corporate program is worth many birthday parties, so it can carry a much higher cost per inquiry and a longer follow-up.
- Your competition Venues with in-house coordinators, national production firms and wedding planners bidding on "event planner" change which searches are worth paying for.
Data sets the monthly budget curve around the January and September waves, ties each discovery call, proposal and signed event to the search, ad or email that started it, and shows when to shift money between corporate and social clients.

If an event planning company came to us, here is how we would start.
This is the pitch we would give a real client, built for a fictional corporate and social event planner in Charlotte with real search data. The business, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

How our specialists segment search demand by buyer intent
We would split the account by buyer, because a company planning a conference, a local host comparing planners and a family planning a party have different click costs and very different value. Budget then moves between groups with the two seasons instead of sitting in one pot.
Corporate events
Companies looking for a planning partner. The highest click costs in the plan, sent to a corporate brief form, never to the party gallery.

The Google listing and lead forms
Event planners are not a Local Services Ads category; the Google Business Profile carries the near me and city searches. We would list corporate events, parties and retreats as services, post photos from each recent event, reply to every review and keep messages answered within the hour. In the ads, Google’s lead form assets collect the date, headcount and event type from the search result, so the planner calls back with a plan instead of a list of questions.
The LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook ad
Social ads reach the people who plan company events before they search. We run LinkedIn to HR, marketing and office leads at Charlotte-area companies in January and August, and Instagram and Facebook with real event photos for private parties all year.
The email
A client who already signed once is the cheapest next event a planner can win. This lands a week after the event, while the results are fresh, and a second email goes out before the next booking season starts.
Thanks for trusting us with your event
Your event is behind you, so here are the photos, the attendance numbers and three things we would do even better next time. Companies who book their next date early get first choice of venues and our senior team.
Hold a date for next yearThe landing page the ads send people to
Corporate buyers compare two or three planners and have to justify the choice to someone else. The page gives them past events, a clear process and a short brief, so the inquiry arrives with what the team needs to quote.

Event planner marketing in Charlotte, and wherever your clients are.
We are based in Charlotte, where banks, hospitals, universities and fast-growing companies keep a steady calendar of conferences, retreats and holiday parties, and where planners compete with hotel and venue teams for the same clients. We plan campaigns for Charlotte-area companies and hosts, and for national clients bringing their events here, each on the search data of its own market. We also work with event planners and production companies nationwide.
Six pipeline leaks we fix in event planner ad accounts.
When we take over event planner accounts, these are the places we most often find good clients leaking, and what we change first.
Paying for job seekers and students
"Event coordinator" and "certified event planner" draw people building a career, and hiring months bring more. We exclude jobs, salaries and courses before launch and check the terms every week.
One budget from January to December
Planner searches here run four to five times higher in January and September than in July. We set a monthly curve from your own data and hold money for the two booking seasons.
Corporate and party leads in one funnel
A company brief and a birthday inquiry need different pages and different follow-up. We split them into their own campaigns, forms and conversion values.
Paying for free ideas
Team building ideas and ice breaker searches are cheap because nobody hires from them. We keep the budget on searches for events, planners and companies.
A contact form with one box
Inquiries with no date or headcount waste the team’s week. We use short qualifying forms and lead form assets, so each inquiry arrives ready to quote.
Silence after the event
The client who signed this year is the easiest one to sign next year. We build recap emails and early date offers that reach them before the next booking season.
Questions event planners ask us.
What is event planner marketing?
Event planner marketing is the search ads, listings, social ads, LinkedIn and email that bring companies and hosts to a planner and turn them into signed events and repeat clients. For us it is measured in discovery calls, proposals and signed events, planned around the months people book planners in your market.
How much should an event planner spend on advertising?
It depends on your mix of corporate and private clients, how many events you can run and what each one is worth. We start from the searches around you and their click costs, weight the budget to the two booking seasons, and adjust as signed events come in.
Should we focus on corporate clients or private parties?
Corporate clicks cost about three times more here, but a recurring corporate program is worth far more than one party. Most planners do best with corporate work as the core and private parties filling the weekends, each in its own campaign.
Do Google Ads work for event planners?
Yes, when the account pays for buyers and not for job seekers, students and software shoppers. Search catches companies and hosts at the moment they look for a planner; the follow-up and proposal decide whether they sign.
Is LinkedIn worth it for event planners?
For corporate events, often yes. The people who book planners, in HR, marketing and operations, rarely search until the date is close, and LinkedIn reaches them by role and company before they do.
Do you work with event planners outside Charlotte?
Yes. We are based in Charlotte and work with event planners and production companies across the US. The method is the same; the seasons, the click costs and the competition change by market.
