Pressure washing

Power washing marketing that pays for the homeowner, not the machine shopper

In the Charlotte area, the biggest pressure washing search is mostly people buying or renting a machine, and the search that hires a crew costs 26 times as much per click. We plan power washing ads, your Google listing, social ads and follow-up around the jobs that pay: whole-house washes, roofs and the gutter work sold on the same visit.

  • $0.31low end of a Charlotte click for "pressure washing", the largest search in the trade and mostly do-it-yourself buyers
  • $8.00low end of a Charlotte click for "pressure washing near me", the search that hires a crew
  • 6xjump in "pressure washing services" searches from December 2025 to March 2026
  • $7.79search-weighted low end of a Charlotte click across the 13 searches in our sample plan

The short answer

What does power washing marketing need to get right?

Power washing marketing has to separate the homeowner who wants a crew from the far larger crowd shopping for a pressure washer, then sell the bigger exterior job once the crew is on site.

Most exterior cleaning accounts we review bid on "pressure washing" because it is the biggest search, and pay for thousands of clicks from people comparing machines and surface cleaners. In the Charlotte data that search drew 4,400 searches a month at a low click cost of $0.31, while "pressure washing near me" drew 1,600 at $8.00. The advertiser price tells you who is hiring. Deck and driveway searches lean the same way. We plan Google Ads for pressure washing, the Google listing, pressure washing SEO, before and after social ads and follow-up as one system, and judge it by booked house washes and the add-ons sold on each visit.

What pressure washing companies need their marketing to solve.

These are the pressures we see in exterior cleaning ad accounts and on their quote calls. They are why a power washing plan looks nothing like a maid service or a moving plan.

  • Hiring searches inside a machine market

The same words are typed by homeowners who want a crew and by people pricing a machine at the hardware store. Paying for the second group drains a small budget in days.

  • A spring rush and a quiet winter

Searches for the service climb hard in March and fall back by December. Crews and cash flow need the busy months booked early and the slow months filled with other work.

  • Proof the customer can see

The result is visual. A green-streaked wall next to a clean one sells the job faster than any line of ad copy, so photos carry the listing, the ads and the quote.

  • One visit, several jobs

A house wash opens the door to the roof, the gutters, the driveway and the deck. The profit is in selling those on the same trip, not in the first ticket alone.

  • Damage worries before the quote

Owners have heard about stripped paint, etched concrete and roof shingles blasted loose. Soft washing, insurance and a crew that explains its method settle that before price comes up.

  • A job that comes back every year

Mildew and pollen return each season. The customer who books an annual wash is worth several times a single visit, and almost none of them search for it again.

What people search when they want an exterior cleaned.

Monthly searches and estimated click costs for the searches a pressure washing company competes for. A low click cost here usually means do-it-yourself shoppers, so the notes below read both the price and the monthly curve.

The click price shows who is hiring
"Pressure washing" peaked at 8,100 Charlotte-area searches in April 2026, yet advertisers paid as little as $0.31 for it. "Deck cleaning" ($0.32) and "driveway pressure washing" ($0.79) read the same way. Searches that name a house, a roof or "near me" sit between $5 and $11, and that is where the plan spends.
March starts the season, July keeps it
"Pressure washing services" rose from 210 searches in December 2025 to 1,300 in March 2026, and "pressure washing near me" peaked at 2,400 that March. The Charlotte city search kept climbing after the spring rush, from 590 in December to 1,900 in July and August 2026, so the budget holds through summer.
Gutters pay most and peak in fall
"Gutter cleaning service" carried the highest low click cost of the core searches at $9.25 and hit 1,000 searches in October 2025 and July 2026 before falling to 210 in September. "Solar panels cleaning near me" sat near 10 a month, then reached 140 in August and 320 in September 2026: a new add-on worth watching.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.

An owner-operator with one rig, a company running three trucks and a firm built on storefronts and HOAs need different plans. Four things decide where a power washing plan starts.

  • Your goals More whole-house washes, more roof and gutter work, a full spring calendar, or annual contracts that steady the winter. Each starts in a different channel.
  • Your rigs and crews How many trucks run and which towns they reach in a morning decides where ads show. A crew booked three weeks out does not need more April leads.
  • Your ticket mix What a house wash, a roof soft wash and a gutter add-on each bring in, and how often one becomes three, decides what a booked estimate can cost.
  • Your competition Franchises, window cleaners who added a wand and weekend operators all show up in the same results. Older brick neighborhoods and new vinyl-sided subdivisions buy differently.

Data sets the monthly budget by job type, checks each channel against booked estimates and add-on revenue, and shows when to move money from spring house washes to fall gutter work.

  • Owner-operator, one rig

Own the map with before and after proof

A Google listing full of real before and after photos, a review routine and a tight search campaign on the "near me" and Charlotte searches in the towns one truck can reach.

  • Multi-crew residential company

    Sell the whole exterior

Separate campaigns for house washing, roofs and gutters, a quote form that asks for every surface, and follow-up that books the annual wash before the next spring rush.

  • Commercial and HOA work

Win the people who sign contracts

Search ads on commercial and building terms, plus outreach to property managers, HOA boards and storefront owners who buy recurring cleaning on a schedule.

If a pressure washing company came to us, here is how we would start.

This is the pitch we would give a real client, built for a fictional Charlotte exterior cleaning company with real search data. The company, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

How our specialists segment search demand by buyer intent

We would split the account by job type, because a house wash, a roof and a gutter clean have their own season, click cost and value. The broad machine-shopping searches stay out of the plan entirely.

Charlotte pressure washing

The hiring searches. "Near me" and the city name carry the volume, and the company and services phrasing shows a homeowner ready for a quote.

SearchCharlotte area / moEst. click cost
pressure washing near me1,600$8.00 to $23.27
pressure washing charlotte nc1,000$6.14 to $23.77
pressure washing services480$9.00 to $24.36
pressure washing company170$9.21 to $25.30

House and roof washing

The biggest tickets. Searches that name the house or the roof come from owners who want it done for them, so these ads lead with soft washing and photos of real siding.

SearchCharlotte area / moEst. click cost
power washing house170$8.00 to $20.74

exterior house cleaning70$5.00 to $17.65
roof cleaning near me50$10.82 to $34.50

Gutters and flatwork

The add-ons that raise the ticket. Gutter searches cost the most and peak in fall, so this group gets its budget when house washing slows down.

SearchCharlotte area / moEst. click cost

How our negative keyword governance protects the budget

  • Pressure washer machines, parts and rentals
  • Surface cleaners, nozzles and detergents
  • Brand names of equipment makers
  • Car and truck washing
  • Pressure washing jobs and starting a business
  • Gutter installation and gutter guards

The trade name is shared with a hardware aisle. Machine shoppers, people pricing chemicals, car owners, job seekers and would-be competitors type the same words. Our specialists load these exclusions before launch and read the search terms every week, so the budget stays on owners who want a crew at the door.

How we write and test the Google search ads

Each intent group gets message-matched ad copy engineered by our specialists to qualify buyers before the click and lift expected click-through rate.

The Google listing and the map

Pressure washing is not on Google’s list of Local Services Ads categories (checked October 2026), while window cleaning, house cleaning and roofing are. So the map listing does the work that pay-per-lead ads do for those trades. We would build it around before and after photos from real jobs, each service named on its own, the towns the trucks cover and a reply to every review, and post fresh results through the spring rush, because "pressure washing near me" searches end on the map.

Power washing marketing in Charlotte, where pollen and humidity keep crews busy.

We are based in Charlotte, where a heavy spring pollen season and humid summers leave yellow film and green mildew on siding, decks and roofs across the region. We plan pressure washing campaigns around the towns each truck can reach in a morning, from older brick neighborhoods close to uptown to new vinyl-sided subdivisions in the surrounding counties, and around the weeks each crew has open. We also work with exterior cleaning companies nationwide; the seasons, the competition and the click costs change by market, and the plan changes with them.

Six growth leaks we fix in pressure washing ad accounts.

When we take over exterior cleaning accounts, these are the places we most often find money leaking, and what we change first.

  1. Buying the hardware aisle

Broad match on "pressure washing" pulls in people comparing machines, surface cleaners and detergents. We exclude equipment, parts and rental searches before launch and keep the budget on searches that name a crew, a house or a town.

  2. Starting the season late

Service searches jumped six times from December to March, and the late starter pays the highest prices of the year. We book past customers in February and raise budgets before the rush, not during it.

  3. Selling one surface at a time

A driveway job barely pays for the truck roll. We build quotes, landing pages and follow-up that offer the house, roof and gutters together, and track the add-on rate as its own number.

  4. Stock photos instead of real results

Owners want proof that you can clean their kind of house without damage. We put real before and after pairs from local jobs on the map, the ads and every page.

  5. Ignoring the fall gutter season

Gutter searches carry the highest click cost and peaked in October 2025 when house washing slows. We shift budget into gutter and roof work in fall instead of cutting spend to zero.

  6. No reason to come back next year

Mildew returns every season, but few customers search again. We set up the annual reminder, the early-booking offer and a review request, so one wash turns into a yearly customer.

Questions pressure washing owners ask us.

How much should a pressure washing company spend on advertising?

It depends on how many rigs you run, the weeks you need to fill and what a typical job brings in with its add-ons. We start from the hiring searches in your area and their click costs by job type, set a budget around your open weeks, and adjust it as invoice data shows what each search returns.

When is the busy season for pressure washing?

In the Charlotte area, searches for the service rose sharply from December to March 2026 and the city search stayed high through July and August. Gutter cleaning searches peaked in October. We read your own market’s curve before setting the budget calendar.

Can pressure washing companies run Local Services Ads?

Not under their own trade today. Pressure washing was not on Google’s US list of Local Services Ads categories when we checked in October 2026, so the Google listing and search ads carry the local work. We watch the list and test the format as soon as the trade is added.

Why do my ads get clicks but few quote requests?

Usually because the account is buying searches from people shopping for a pressure washer. The biggest search in the trade had a low click cost of $0.31 in the Charlotte data, a sign that few advertisers think it hires anyone. We cut those searches and move the budget to house, roof and town searches.

Does SEO for pressure washing matter if we run ads?

Yes. Pages for each surface and town rank for the hiring searches that cost $5 to $11 a click to buy, and before and after galleries keep earning calls in the slow months. Ads fill the spring calendar fast while organic pages lower the cost of every new job.

Do you work with pressure washing companies outside Charlotte?

Yes. We are based in Charlotte and work with exterior cleaning companies across the US. The method is the same; seasons, click costs and competitors change with each market.
