Cosmetic dentist marketing that books smile consults, not whitening coupons

Cosmetic patients pay out of pocket, compare results before they compare offices and often have a date in mind. We plan search ads, your Google profile, social ads with consented before and after photos, and consult follow-up around veneers and smile makeovers, for Charlotte-area practices and cosmetic dentists nationwide.

  • 3,600"cosmetic dentist charlotte" searches in November 2025, against 320 in June and July 2026
  • 2,400"veneers" searches a month in the Charlotte area, against 1,600 for "teeth whitening"
  • $4.46 to $20.87estimated cost of one click on "cosmetic dentist near me" in Charlotte
  • 1,000"veneers near me" searches in September 2026, against 70 in December 2025

The short answer

What makes cosmetic dentist marketing different from marketing a family practice?

Cosmetic dentist marketing sells an elective, self-paid result to an adult who judges the dentist by the smiles they have already made, so it is measured by smile consults that become accepted veneer and makeover plans, not by whitening sign-ups.

Insurance rarely decides a cosmetic case, so the patient compares photos, the doctor and the plan instead. In the Charlotte data, veneers draw more searches than whitening, and city searches for a cosmetic dentist peak in the fall and winter, then drop by nine tenths in early summer. The ads carry their own rules: Meta lets cosmetic procedure ads show before and after results, but only to adults 18 and over, and never with copy that attacks how someone looks, and Google treats health as a sensitive category for personalized ads. We plan cosmetic dentistry ads, the Google Business Profile, social ads, cosmetic SEO and consult follow-up as one system.

What cosmetic practices need their marketing to solve.

These are the pressures we see in general practices growing their cosmetic work and in practices built around veneers and smile design. They are why a cosmetic plan looks nothing like a new-patient plan.

  • Results are the first thing judged

Cosmetic patients look at smiles the doctor has already made before they look at hours or location. A practice with no gallery of real, consented cases loses to one that has it.

  • Self-paid, so value has to be clear

Insurance seldom covers veneers or whitening. The patient weighs the result against the cost and the financing, and needs both explained before the consult.

  • Whitening and veneers are different patients

A whitening shopper and a smile makeover patient search differently, spend very different amounts and need their own ads and pages.

  • Drugstore products in the same results

Whitening searches are full of strips, pens and kits, and snap-on veneer products sell online. Most of those clicks will never sit in a dental chair.

  • A date on the calendar

Many patients want the result before an event, a new job or the holidays. Veneers take weeks, so the practice that reaches them early books the case.

  • Appearance ad rules

Social ads cannot shame a viewer’s teeth, cosmetic procedure ads must reach adults only, and every before and after photo needs the patient’s written consent.

What people search when they look for cosmetic dentistry, and when.

Monthly searches and estimated click costs for the searches a cosmetic practice competes for. Yearly averages hide a strong fall and winter season and a late summer jump in veneer searches, so the notes below read the curve month by month.

A fall and winter season
"Cosmetic dentist charlotte" reached 3,600 searches in November 2025 and 1,600 in January 2026, then fell to 320 in June and July. "Veneers charlotte nc" peaked at 720 in January and sat at 140 in June and July. Practices choosing a cosmetic dentist do most of their looking from October to March.
Veneer research, then a late summer jump
"Porcelain veneers cost" peaked at 720 in March 2026 and fell to 170 from June to September. Then September brought the near-me searches: "veneers near me" hit 1,000, against 70 in December, "porcelain teeth veneers" 1,300 and "cosmetic dentist near me" 1,900. Patients budgeted in spring and went looking for a dentist in September.
Whitening is cheaper, and leakier
A click on "teeth whitening" starts near $2.09 in Charlotte, against $4.46 for "cosmetic dentist near me". But the same results hold drugstore product searches with clicks under $1, and "teeth whitening dentist" fell from 1,300 in October 2025 to 90 in September 2026. Whitening fills a calendar; veneers carry the plan.

Our approach: it depends, and the data decides.

A general practice adding whitening and veneers and a practice known for full smile makeovers need different plans. Four things decide where a cosmetic plan starts.

  • Your goals More veneer cases, more full smile makeovers, a fuller whitening chair or a new cosmetic dentist’s calendar filled. Each starts with a different keyword group and page.
  • Your timeline Search ads book smile consults within weeks. A results gallery, cosmetic SEO and a base of reviews from finished cases build over a year or more.
  • Your budget Near-me cosmetic searches start above $4 a click in Charlotte, veneer cost research near $1.25. A smaller budget goes to the October to March season and the research searches first.
  • Your competition Cosmetic specialists, family practices, whitening studios and online product sellers share the same results. The plan depends on who bids around your office.

Data sets the budget by consult capacity, ties each smile consult and accepted plan to the search, listing or email that began it without treatment details, and shows when to move money between whitening and veneers.

  • General practice growing cosmetic work

Turn existing patients into cosmetic cases

A veneers and bonding page with real cases, a tight search campaign around the office and an email to existing patients about whitening and smile options.

  • Cosmetic-focused practice

More veneers and full smile makeovers

A dedicated veneer campaign, a gallery-led landing page and consult follow-up, with social video of the doctor explaining a smile design visit.

  • Multi-office group

Grow cosmetic cases in every office

Office-level campaigns and listings, a gallery for each doctor, and reporting by doctor and office so cosmetic cases are counted where they start.

If a cosmetic practice came to us, here is how we would start.

This is the pitch we would give a real client, built for a fictional Charlotte cosmetic practice with real search data. The business, its phone number and its website are invented. Sample data shows the kind of results a campaign like this tracks; it is not a client result and not a promise.

How our specialists segment search demand by buyer intent

We would split the account by treatment and by how close the patient is to choosing a dentist, because a veneer patient, a cost researcher and a whitening shopper each have their own click cost, curve and page. Budget then moves with the season instead of sitting in one pot.

Cosmetic dentist near me

People choosing a practice now. The highest click costs in the account, funded hardest from October to January and again in September, with bids tied to open consult slots.

cosmetic dentist near me880$4.46 to $20.87
cosmetic dentist charlotte1,000$3.46 to $13.72

Veneers

The cases that carry the practice. Sent to a veneer page with real, consented cases from the doctor, porcelain and composite explained side by side, and a smile consult button.

porcelain teeth veneers590$1.30 to $10.00
veneers near me260$2.57 to $13.73
composite veneers210$1.88 to $13.19

Cost and bonding

Patients still weighing the price, cheapest to reach and heavy in February and March. Sent to a plain cost and financing page that compares veneers and bonding, not a coupon.

Professional whitening

Only the searches that ask for a dentist or an office, never the generic product searches. A smaller group with its own page, and the first visit that often leads to a veneer conversation.

How our negative keyword governance protects the budget

  • Whitening strips, pens, kits and toothpaste brands
  • Snap-on, clip-on and press-on veneer products
  • The Lumineers band and its tour
  • DIY, natural and home remedy searches
  • Overseas and dental tourism searches
  • Jobs, courses and dental school searches

Cosmetic searches pull in drugstore shoppers, people buying snap-on veneers online and, because a veneer brand shares its name with a band, concert searches. Our specialists load these exclusions before launch and review the search terms every week, so the budget reaches patients who will sit in the chair.

How we write and test the Google search ads

The Google listing and the map

Cosmetic patients scroll the photos on a listing before they read anything else. The listing would show veneers, bonding and whitening as services, the financing the practice offers, real photos of the office and the dentist, and finished smile cases only where the patient signed a consent for that use. Reviews from patients who finished a smile makeover carry the most weight; we ask after the final visit, never in exchange for anything, and reply to every review without confirming any detail of a patient’s care.

The Instagram ad

Cosmetic dentistry ads on Instagram reach adults 18 and over near the office in the fall and winter season and again in September. The copy describes the treatment and the result, never a flaw in the viewer’s teeth, because Meta does not allow ads that attack a person’s appearance, and before and after photos run only with the patient’s written consent.

The email

This goes only to patients who came to a smile consult, from the practice’s own system. Cosmetic decisions often wait for a budget or a date, so a short follow-up series turns more consults into accepted plans at no click cost, and the message names the visit, never a diagnosis.

The landing page the ads send people to

Cosmetic patients arrive wanting to see results before reading anything. The page leads with the doctor’s own consented cases, answers cost and payment plainly, and keeps the consult form to a name, a phone number and one choice between whitening, bonding and veneers.

Cosmetic dentist marketing in Charlotte and the region.

We are based in Charlotte, where cosmetic patients will drive past three family dentists to reach the one whose smiles they liked. We give veneer campaigns a wider radius than whitening, and we time the budget to the October to March season and the September jump in near-me searches in the local data. We also work with cosmetic practices nationwide; the searches, the competition and the season change by market, and the plan changes with them.

Six growth leaks we fix in cosmetic dentistry ad accounts.

When we take over cosmetic dental accounts, these are the places we most often find consults and cases leaking, and what we change first.

  1. Whitening and veneers in one campaign

Whitening clicks are cheaper and more plentiful, so a shared budget drifts to them while veneer searches go unfunded. We split the two so each has its own ads, page and budget.

  2. Paying for drugstore whitening

Generic whitening searches mix in strips, pens and kits with clicks under a dollar. We bid on searches that ask for a dentist and exclude the product and brand searches.

  3. Buying concert clicks

A popular veneer brand shares its name with a band, and the band wins most of those searches. We exclude the tour and music searches before launch.

  4. Stock smiles instead of real cases

Patients can tell a stock photo from a finished case. We build the gallery, ads and listing around the dentist’s own work, used only with signed patient consent.

  5. Copy that points at flaws

Headlines asking about stained or crooked teeth break Meta’s rules on appearance and get ads rejected. We write about the result and the visit instead.

  6. Flat budgets all year

City searches peak from October to January, cost research in March and near-me veneer searches jumped in September. We raise budgets into those months and hold back in early summer.

Questions cosmetic practice owners ask us.

How much should a cosmetic practice spend on advertising?

It depends on how many smile consults your dentists can see, the treatments you want more of and who bids around your office. Near-me cosmetic searches in Charlotte start above $4 a click, so we set the budget from consult capacity and the fall and winter season, and adjust it as accepted plans show what each channel returns.

When do cosmetic dentistry patients search the most?

In the Charlotte data, searches for a cosmetic dentist by city peak from October to January, veneer cost research peaks in March, and near-me veneer searches jumped in September 2026. Early summer is the quietest stretch, so we raise budgets into the season and keep a lighter presence in June and July.

Can we use before and after photos in our ads?

Yes, with care. Meta allows before and after results for cosmetic procedures when the ads reach adults 18 and over and the copy does not criticize anyone’s appearance. We use only the practice’s own cases, each with the patient’s written consent for advertising use.

Should we advertise whitening or veneers?

Usually both, in separate campaigns. Veneers draw more searches in Charlotte and carry the larger cases; whitening is cheaper to reach and brings people in for a first visit. Keeping them apart stops cheap whitening clicks from eating the veneer budget.

Do you work with cosmetic dentists outside Charlotte?

Yes. We are based in Charlotte and work with cosmetic practices across the US. The method is the same; the click costs, the season and the competition in the results change by market.

What do you measure besides leads?

Smile consult requests and calls, consults kept, accepted plans by treatment and cost per accepted plan, with veneers and whitening shown apart. A lead count alone cannot tell a whitening coupon hunter from a smile makeover patient.
