Marketing Analytics Agency Charlotte: see which ads, keywords and pages bring you customers.

Overtop Media Digital Marketing sets up the tracking that ties every call, form, booking and sale to the ad, search or page that produced it, then reports it in plain language. Your budget goes to what works and stops funding what does not.

The short answer

What do our marketing analytics services do for you?

Our marketing analytics services make your marketing measurable in customers, not clicks. As your Google Analytics consultant and GTM agency, we set up GA4, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking alongside Meta and your other platforms, run call tracking services for phone leads, and feed real results back so the ad platforms find more customers like your best ones.

Tracking is not a side project for us. It sits under every campaign we run, from Google Ads management to Meta ads and email, because no channel can be judged, or improved, without it. If you already advertise, a GA4 audit and tracking review is the fastest way to find out what your budget is really buying.

  • Every number traced to a customerIf a number cannot be traced to a real call, lead, booking or sale, it does not go in your report.
  • Partners on the platforms we measureA Google Partner, Meta Business Partner and Microsoft Advertising Partner, growing businesses from Charlotte since 2009.
  • Built into every channel we runThe same tracking powers your ads, SEO, website and email, so every channel is judged by the same rules.

From the first click to the sale, nothing goes unseen.

Most businesses can see clicks and visits. Few can see which of those became customers. We connect the whole path, then send the result back to the platforms that bought the click.

  1. Step 1 They find you An ad, a search result, a map listing or an email. We record Campaign, keyword, ad, audience and device
  2. Step 2 They take a step They visit a page, call, ask for directions or book. We record Landing page, call source and profile actions
  3. Step 3 They become a customer A real lead, a booked job or a paid order. We record Qualified calls, clean leads, bookings and order value
  4. Step 4 The result goes back To Google, Meta, your other platforms and your report. We record Conversion value, sales stage and revenue
Know what works
Every call, form, booking and sale is tied to the campaign, keyword, ad and page that produced it, so you can see which half of the budget is working.
Stop paying for clicks that never buy
Keywords, audiences and placements that bring visits but no customers become visible, and the money moves to the ones that do.
Smarter automated bidding
Google and Meta bid toward whatever you count as a conversion. Count real customers, and their systems go looking for more people like them.
Numbers you can trust
One plan for what counts, no double counting, and no ad platform grading its own homework without a second source.

Conversion tracking for every ad platform

Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest each get the right conversion actions, with real values, counted once. Calls, leads and purchases are marked as the goals the bidding works toward; page views and button clicks are not.

Google published that UK retailer MandM Direct recorded 3% more conversions on Search and 20% more on YouTube after turning on enhanced conversions. Results vary by advertiser.

Google Analytics 4, set up for your business

Every client works with a Google Analytics consultant who starts with a GA4 audit and sets up key events that match how you make money, ecommerce reporting, audiences, internal and spam traffic filters, and links to Google Ads and Search Console. Visits from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot are grouped in their own channel, so you can see what that traffic is worth.

Google Analytics 4 replaced Universal Analytics, which stopped processing data on July 1, 2023. Since March 2024, GA4 calls its conversions key events.

Google Tag Manager, clean and documented

As a GTM agency, we build one container for every tag, named and versioned so anyone can see what fires and why. Old tags left by past vendors are found and removed, and every change is tested before it goes live.

Call tracking services

For many local businesses the lead is a phone call. Our call tracking services use tracking numbers that change by source to show which ad, search or page made the phone ring, calls can be recorded where the law allows, and only real conversations, not hang-ups, are counted as leads and sent back to the ad platforms.

In a 2026 survey of 693 US consumers by call analytics company Invoca, 41% said they prefer calling when they have a problem and need help.

Forms, bookings and direction requests

Quote forms with spam filtered out, online booking tools that live on another domain, chat starts, tap-to-call and the calls, website visits and direction requests from your Google Business Profile, all in one place.

Google Business Profile reports the calls, direction requests and website clicks your profile produces; we put them next to your website and ad data.

Offline and CRM conversion imports

A form fill is not a customer. We connect your CRM or booking system so qualified leads, won jobs and real revenue flow back to Google Ads and Meta, and the bidding learns to find buyers instead of form fillers.

Meta reports that ads using its conversion leads goal, with a CRM connected to the Conversions API, saw on average a 15% lower cost per quality lead than ads optimized for lead volume.

Server-side tracking

Browser privacy settings and ad blockers hide a growing share of results. Server side tracking and server-side tagging on your own domain, plus the Meta Conversions API and similar connections for other platforms, sends conversions to the platforms more reliably, and keeps control of what data leaves your site.

TikTok reports that advertisers using both its Pixel and Events API capture 19% more events on average, with a 15% improvement in cost per acquisition (TikTok analysis, Nov 2022 to Feb 2023).

Consent mode and privacy

Google Consent Mode v2 and a consent banner where your customers need one. Visitors who decline are respected, and the platforms model the conversions they cannot observe, so you keep reporting without collecting what you should not.

Consent Mode v2 added two signals, for ad data and for personalized ads, in November 2023, and Google stepped up enforcement for European visitors in 2024.

Reporting dashboards

Calls, leads, bookings and sales by channel and campaign, with cost per customer and revenue where your data allows. Every report comes with a plain-language note on what changed and what we are doing next.

The right setup for how you make money.

A plumber, a dental practice and an online store need different tracking. We start from what a customer looks like in your business and build only what measures it.

  • Electrician working on a home’s electric meter

    Home and local services

What counts: Booked jobs from calls, quote forms and profile actions.

Call tracking and Google Business Profile tracking are essential. Won jobs come back from your CRM or field-service software.

  • Dentist reviewing a smile image on a monitor with a patient

    Medical, dental and wellness

What counts: New patient bookings and calls, not page visits.

Booking-tool tracking, call tracking and privacy-first setups that keep health details out of ad platforms entirely.

  • Owner preparing online orders at her studio desk

    Online stores

What counts: Purchases, order value and returning buyers.

GA4 ecommerce, purchase values in every ad platform, and server-side tracking with the Conversions API once ad spend is meaningful.

  • Advisor meeting a client at a table

    Professional and B2B

What counts: Qualified consultations and closed deals.

CRM stages imported back to Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn, because the sale happens weeks after the click.

We also build tracking for:

  • Restaurants, bars and cafes
  • Retail shops and showrooms
  • Real estate and home builders
  • Law firms
  • Auto dealers and repair shops
  • Gyms, salons and studios
  • Multi-location and franchise brands
  • Nonprofits and education

Why Google Ads, Meta, GA4 and your CRM never show the same number.

It is the question every business owner asks us. A steady gap is normal and can be explained. A gap nobody can explain usually means something is broken.

Cross-channel credit reconciliation
When a buyer sees a Meta ad and later converts through a Google Search ad, each ad platform claims the full sale. Overtop Media Digital Marketing reconciles platform-attributed conversions against unified GA4 and CRM records so you never pay twice for the same customer.
Click-date vs. close-date alignment
Ad platforms assign conversions to the day of the click, while your CRM records the day the invoice closes. Our reporting bridges that sales-cycle lag so multi-week B2B and high-ticket service pipelines are evaluated accurately.
Privacy and consent signal recovery
When browsers restrict cookies or visitors decline consent banners, unmanaged accounts lose visibility into converting journeys. We deploy server-side tagging and Consent Mode modeling to preserve attribution accuracy.
Lead-to-customer pipeline calibration
Ad platforms optimize for whatever signal they are fed. By connecting your CRM and call outcomes back into Google Ads and Meta, we train automated bidding to pursue closed revenue rather than raw form fills.
How OVERTOP engineers clean attribution

When Overtop Media Digital Marketing takes over an inherited account, we replace broken conversion signals with verified revenue tracking across these seven layers.

  • Eliminating duplicate GA4 and native tag conversions that inflate reported ROASDeduplicated
  • Replacing page-view and scroll goals with verified buyer actionsRevenue-aligned
  • Connecting dynamic call tracking across search ads, landing pages, and GBPAttributed
  • Preserving click attribution across third-party scheduling and checkout domainsStitched
  • Filtering bot and solicitation submissions before they reach ad-platform biddingSanitized
  • Importing closed-won CRM deals and invoice values back to Google Ads and MetaClosed-loop
  • Aligning GA4 key events and executive reporting to net new customer revenueVerified

Tracking is what makes every other service work.

Overtop Media Digital Marketing is a full-service agency, and measurement is the thread that ties the channels together. The same tracking tells every channel what is working, from one Charlotte office.

  • Google Ads Bids follow the searches that bring paying customers, not the cheapest clicks.
  • Meta Ads The Conversions API and CRM results teach Meta which people actually buy.
  • Microsoft Ads Microsoft, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest each get their own clean conversion feed, so none is judged by guesswork.
  • SEO and your website Which pages and searches bring leads, not just visits, and where visitors drop off.
  • Email and SMS Revenue by campaign and automated flow, tied to the same customer record.
  • Local listings Calls, direction requests and bookings from your Google Business Profile.

That is why we set up measurement before a campaign scales, not after. When the same tracking feeds Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and your email marketing, budget can move between channels based on customers rather than on which platform reports the biggest number.

A loop of three steps: data picks the direction, data validates the decision, data adjusts the course, then the loop repeats. 1 2 3 Every decision, measured.

Our approach: the data decides.

Opinions are cheap and every channel has a salesperson. We let your numbers make the calls, at three points in every engagement.

  1. 1

    Data picks the direction

Before money moves, real search demand from OVERTOP Search Intelligence, your sales history and your margins decide which channels, markets and offers go first. The right mix depends on the business; the data decides it.

  2. 2

    Data validates the decision

Big changes run as tests with a clear before and after, or a holdout group that sees no ads. A change stays only if the numbers back it.

  3. 3

    Data adjusts the course

Weekly reviews shift budget toward what produces customers and away from what does not, as seasons, competitors and costs change.

Why measurement pays, in the platforms' own numbers.

Google, Meta and LinkedIn publish what better measurement does for advertisers. These are their figures, with their sources, not our client results.

How we set up your tracking.

The order never changes. Nothing is built until we agree what counts, and nothing is reported until every conversion has been tested.

  1. 1Review what you haveEvery tag, conversion action, GA4 property and tracking number is audited before anything changes.
  2. 2Agree what countsA written measurement plan: which actions are conversions, what each is worth, where each is sent.
  3. 3Build and connectTag Manager, GA4, ad platforms, calls, CRM, server-side and consent, in accounts you own.
  4. 4Test every conversionTest calls, forms, bookings and purchases, each confirmed to land once, in the right place.
  5. 5Monitor and reportChecks catch broken tracking after site or form changes. Plain-language reports every month.

How OVERTOP turns raw interactions into revenue signals.

Charlotte, the Carolinas and nationwide.

Our office is in Charlotte, and many of the businesses we measure are local: contractors, practices, restaurants and shops across the metro, where calls and direction requests matter as much as online sales. Tracking is built inside your own accounts, so we set it up and run it for businesses anywhere in North and South Carolina and nationwide. If you serve a local area, start with your town's page:

Questions about analytics and tracking.

What does a marketing analytics agency do?

It makes your marketing measurable in customers. We set up GA4, Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking for Google Ads, Meta and your other ad platforms, track phone calls, forms, bookings and sales, connect your CRM, and report what each channel brings in, so budget decisions are based on revenue rather than clicks.

How much does conversion tracking setup cost?

It depends on what you have and what you need: how many ad platforms, whether calls and a CRM are involved, and whether server-side tracking is worth it at your ad spend. Every client gets a custom plan rather than a package, so we quote after a short review of your current setup. Talk to us and we will tell you what your business actually needs.

My ad platforms already report conversions. Why do I need GA4 and more?

Because each ad platform credits its own ads and can count the same customer more than once. GA4 gives you one view across channels, and your CRM tells you which leads became customers. Together they show what each channel is really worth.

Why do Google Ads, Meta, GA4 and my CRM show different numbers?

Each counts differently: ad platforms credit their own ads and include customers who only saw an ad, they date a conversion to the click rather than the sale, and privacy settings make platforms model some conversions. A steady gap is normal. A gap that suddenly widens, or that nobody can explain, usually means something is broken.

Do I need server side tracking?

Not always. A clean standard setup is enough for many local businesses. Server side tracking pays off when ad spend is meaningful, when an online store needs every purchase reported, or when browser restrictions are hiding a large share of results. We tell you honestly which one fits.

Can you track phone calls from my ads and my Google Business Profile?

Yes. Our call tracking services use tracking numbers that change by source to show which ad, search or page produced each call, and calls from your profile are reported separately. Only real conversations count as leads, and those are sent back to Google Ads so bidding favors the searches that make the phone ring.

Will tracking slow down my website?

Not when it is done properly. As a GTM agency, we remove duplicate and abandoned tags, load tracking after the page is usable, and move heavy work to the server where it fits. A fast site and full measurement are not a trade-off.

Is tracking compliant with privacy laws?

We set up Google Consent Mode v2 and a consent banner where your customers need one, respect visitors who decline, and keep personal and health details out of what is sent to ad platforms. We work alongside your legal adviser on your privacy policy; we do not give legal advice.

Who owns the accounts and data?

You do. GA4, Tag Manager, ad accounts and tracking numbers are set up in your name with admin access for you, and you get a written record of every tag and conversion.

We already have tracking. Can you run a GA4 audit?

Yes, and a GA4 audit is where most engagements start. A tracking review from a Google Analytics consultant shows what is counted twice, what is missing in your Google Ads conversion tracking, and what your ad platforms are optimizing toward, before any money or code changes.

Do you work with businesses outside Charlotte?

Yes. We set up and manage tracking for businesses across the Charlotte metro, the Carolinas and nationwide, from our Charlotte office. Most of the work happens in your accounts, so location is never a barrier.

Find out what your marketing really brings in.

Tell us which channels you run and how customers reach you. We will review your current tracking, show you what is missing or counted twice, and what it would take to measure every customer.
